Designer Dossier: Falguni and Shane Peacock

Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock have been a tinsel-town favourite for a while now. Their edgy designs, 3D cuts, futuristic prints have always been a go-to when looking for something not so run of the mill.
While the experimental B town ladies opt for their daring styles, others prefer to take the relatively safe route with their printed sheath dresses and maxis. Sameera Reddy and Neha Dhupia clearly have an enviable range of the duo’s ensembles in their wardrobe.



Indian Flavour

With a plethora of movies up for release in the coming weeks, it has been promotions galore for our trendy actresses. And while there always are western looks to turn to, we saw a large number of them giving us Indian looks.
Sridevi and Kareena Kapoor continue to favour their all time fav Manish Malhotra and we are not complaining. Especially love the somber yellow and pink combination. Anarkalis continued to be a popular choice and red emerged as the triumphant colour.
While we are loving the Indian streak, do wish to see some more interesting suits. What say?



Sonakshi Sinha, Mailaika Arora Khan walk the ramp for Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric 2012

The third year of Shabana Azmi’s NGO, Mijwan Welfare Society, hosted a fashion show, Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric 2012 on 3rd September at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. The highlight was Mijwan’s female population had their craftsmanship showcased on ramp, by leading models and celebrities, through Manish Malhotra’s designs. The 2012 edition of the show showcased embroidery done entirely by the girls of Mijwan. Manish has translated work done by Mijwan girls into contemporary modern designs.



The Shivan and Narresh brigade

The newest boys on the Indian fashion block, Shivan & Narresh, have brought a revolution of sorts. They have made swimwear sexy and a part of mainstream wardrobes. From beachwear, resort wear dress, lycra and bikini saris, the Bollywood brigade is eating out of their hands!

Blenders Pride hosted this special preview in Mumbai when chic, glamour and style blended to create a sense of ultra-fashion from the 13 designers who each revealed a creation from their collection at the media preview.
