Lime or lemon juice(lemon more effective than lime), turmeric, honey, tamarind are natural bleach. Any of these can be used as a lightening agent(to get fairer complexion)

drink 10 glasses of water with any of the followin recipes. You need to do this for atleast 15 days to see the effect.

1) Make a paste by mixing 1 tablespoon honey with 2 tablespoon powdered almonds and ½ teaspoon lemon juice. Rub on the face then wash with warm water.
2) Apply grated white radish or its juice for fairer complexion.
3)Mix 1 spoon of yogurt with a pinch of haldi and apply on face.
4) Rub gopichandan stick on your face and wash off after it dries.
5) Take 4 almonds and soak them overnight. Using milk grind them and make a very fine paste. Before going to bed apply this paste on the neck and face. Next morning wash with cold water. Repeat daily for 15 days. Then follow up twice a week. This is also an excellent protein mask.
6) Grate a tomato and add 2-3 drops of lime juice. Apply on face and neck. Rinse it off after 20 minutes. Do this morning and evening for 15 - 20 days
7) For oily skin - Apply a mixture of equal amounts of lemon and cucumber juice on the face . Leave it for 15 minutes and wash off.
8) For dry skin - Apply a mixture of equal amounts of cucumber juice and honey on the face . Leave it for 15 minutes and wash off.

well, these will certainly not change your original skin color. they will though aid in having a better and clear skin. i mean i ve been so obsessed with fairness products and tips, but in the end of the day its what your genetic disposition is and how you eat (diet).

I live in america. Suntan salons are all over. People pay a fortune to get tan. We indian have god given tan and we pay a fortune to get rid of it. I think we need to be proud of who we are and our skin color. its beautiful.

yes americans pay fortune to get tan. and its that they like it or its their choice.so? what it has got to do with we indians?. cant we have our likes and cant we go for what we like?

But 10 glasses of water with turmeric/ tamarind or bleach would taste yek! and for 15 days... i am sure i won't be able to do this.... lime, lemon juice & honey is ok

NOT 10 glasss of water with tumeric and tamarind!!!!

But 10 glasses of water to drink alone. AND make a paste of tumeric and tamarind and apply to your face for 15 days!!!
Does this make sense now???

im dark tan and i get put down alot by my family who are pretty fair. And wen i see these advice for lighter skin i feel even more let down. instead of advocating for fair skin can we just give advice for smooth and clear and radiant skin? i hope i dint offend you its just that these kinda mentality we have is very narrow-minded and backwards n a world full of people with so many rich variety of colors of skin.
thankx 4 the advice though...im sure it works.

anonymous said it perfectly: be happy with your own skin colour. I wont say fair is beautiful or dark is beautiful, because the truth is that EVERY skin colour is beautiful: instead of 'fairness' or 'tanning' tips, i think anti-spot and anti-acne tips would be better

I'm not indian and I was born milk white and I lovem y complexion however I do get really tan on my arms sometimes adn I hate it if the tan gets really deep I myself like being tanned a bit. Honestly it's about what you like yes american ppl pay to get tan but the tan you get on a fair skin is HOT and not dark. Most indians are dark not tan and if they don't like it than that's just them. Ppl dye their hair but that's not considered as bad hmm I think it's ghetto to comment negatively.

your complexion which makes you look wonderful I just adore admire ...even aishwarya rai is not beautiful when she makes herself " white" just see how beautiful she is with her natural skin ...please indians you are wonderful and unique please dont ruin your beauty ...

i dunno wen society will rise above the 'fairness' issue..
its so sad to see tht people have reached the moon yet the colour of a girl's face is still considered a tabboo..

Wow, I find this article shocking and well as the pic. Even more shocking to me is all the comments about how they want to be lighter, like it's the most natural thing to say.
