Discussion: What weight loss techniques have worked for you?

What weight loss techniques have you tried and have been successful It would be great if we could share tips because everyone seems to be interested in this and we can help each other out:)
Coming to me, i have really tried losing weight, but i wanted to drop a dress size but was never successful. I guess my hips are a little broad and refused to come down.
1)Has anything worked for reducing the hip size to drop a dress size?
2)One thing that surely worked for me for reducing tummy fat is having an early dinner say 4-5 hours before going to bed. And i dont eat rice/pasta in the night. Mostly rotis.
3) the workout that i totally love is Yoga but hard to lose weight using it, but definetely helped me become more flexible and calm.
