Former model and actress Gul Panag was born on 3rd January, 1977, in Punjab. Her father was an army officer due to which she had to travel from one place to another and had to change schools numerous times. Later, she graduated from Panjab University. She was active in sports and public speaking. Also, she won gold medals at various national and international debate competitions. In 1999, she won the Miss India title and also the Miss Beautiful Smile Award. After her Miss India fame, she got many advertisements which boosted her modelling career. Later, she made her debut in Bollywood with the 2003 film Dhoop. It was a critically acclaimed film. Next, she was seen in Vikram Bhatt's film Jurm (2005). It was a breakthrough in her career. Over time, Gul Panag was seen in films like Manorama Six Feet Under (2007), Summer 2007 (2008), Hello (2008), Rann (2010), Turning 30 (2011), Ab Tak Chhappan 2 (2015), and so on. Other than Bollywood, Gul Panag also made her debut in the Punjabi film industry with the 2013 film Sikander followed by Ambarsariya in 2016. He started her television career with Khoobsurat in 2013, a series based on Kashmir and the military factors in the valley. The actress has also featured as a television presenter in Khoobsurat and also hosted many shows. Gul Panag made an entry into politics in 2014. She joined Aam Aadmi Party and was campaigning from Chandigarh for the 2014 Indian General Elections. Apart from being an actor, Gul is also a half marathon runner, an avid biker, certified pilot. Gul is a health activist. She co-founded the fitness startup MobieFit in 2017. Talking about her personal life, she married her longtime boyfriend Rishi Attari in 2011 in a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony. The couple has a son, Nihal.
