Sanjay surrendered before a special court to complete his prison term in the 1993 Mumbai bombings case, adding one more chapter in a life story that could rival one of his films.
It was a somber Wednesday evening at Sanjay Dutt’s Pali Hill residence when the actor’s incarceration was just hours away. Sanjay Dutt decided to spend the evening with his wife Maanyata and his twins. And contrary to reports on Thursday morning there were no dramatic outbursts from Dutt. According to his friends, Dutt was remarkably calm and controlled on the evening before his impending incarceration.
Sanjay Dutt is busy wrapping up his pending assignments before he surrenders himself to serve his jail sentence of 3.5 years. However, this is not stopping him from making time for a good cause. He, along with his sisters Priya and Namrata donated a Mobile Mamography Unit to leading oncologist Dr. Advani's 'Helping Hand' Foundation on behalf of the Nargis Dutt Memorial Charitable Trust.
When asked (by a news channel) about his thoughts on Sanjay Dutt's imprisonment, Nana Patekar took a different stand than most of his B-town colleagues. He said that though Sanjay is not his enemy, he wants Sanjay to undergo imprisonment for his crime. He mentioned that law should be the same for every person and no star should get a special treatment.
