Vidya Balan spends an hour with a young fan!

Vidya Balan was in for a pleasant surprise, when a young teenage fan, traveled from Delhi to her residence in Mumbai and waited for hours under her building to present Vidya with a scrapbook on the occasion of Vidya completing 10 years in the film industry.
The girl waited at Vidya's residence gate for half a day, and informed her building guard that she personally wanted to gift Vidya a book, cuttings of which she spent years collecting.

"Hamari Adhuri Kahani" mints over Rs.30 crore

Director Mohit Suri's “Hamari Adhuri Kahani”, which captures the passion of unrequited love between two souls, has collected over Rs.30 crore in India.
The total collection of the film, which released on June 12, so far stands at Rs.30.26 crore net in India, read a statement.
The film, which features Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan, has been made at a cost of Rs.35 crore and has recovered Rs.22.5 crore from satellite and music.
Suri's directorial has so far collected $1.52 million from the overseas market.

Vidya Balan was spotted at PVR Juhu (Mumbai) last night. She was accompanied by her husband, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur.
The two were rocking the casual look with Vidya in a black and pink salwar-kameez while Siddharth was wearing a simple grey T-shirt paired with dark blue denims.
It is unclear which movie the couple was watching but they did stop and pose for the shutterbugs waiting outside.
Vidya was last seen in the recently released 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' which was directed by Mohit Suri and also starred Emran Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao.

Vidya Balan awarded ‘Woman of the Decade’ at the Women Economic Forum

Vidya Balan was in Goa to attend the Women Economic Forum. She was presented with the ‘Woman of the Decade’ award. She was also approached by the Ladies Wing of the Indian Merchant Chambers and the team invited Vidya to be the chief guest for the screening of her film ‘Humari Adhuri Kahani’.
A special screening of her film was organised and the actor happily obliged. The Wing was keen to screen the film as it has a strong-woman protagonist and having Vidya attend the screening was an added impetus.

'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' now tax free in Uttar Pradesh

Mohit Suri's latest directorial "Hamari Adhuri Kahani", which talks about the freedom of women from patriarchal clutches, is now tax free in Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh has become the third state after Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to declare the Vidya Balan-Emraan Hasmi starrer tax free.
"The UP government has made our film tax free because the core theme of our film passionately raises the issue of women's empowerment," Mahesh Bhatt, who has written the love story, said in a statement.
