Why Aishwarya opted out of Menon’s biopic on MS Subbulakshmi?

Aishwarya Rai had her first commercial and critical success with Rajeev Menon’s 'Kandukondain Kandukondain during her initial years.
The cinematographer-turned-director returns to direction after 14 years now. The filmmaker is set to direct his most ambitious biopic on the legendary Carnatic singer, MS Subbulakshmi.
This would be one of the most ambitious biopics ever, to be made at a sprawling cost of Rs 70 crores in three languages Hindi, Tamil and English. AR Rahman has been confirmed for the film and he will score the music.
