Aquaman Box Office Collection: Jason Momoa starrer creates a storm in China; earns $94 million

Aquaman's opening weekend earning is 92 percent higher than the opening of Justice League in China.

Two weeks before Aquaman's release in the USA, the movie has already received a huge opening in China and grabbed a top opening spot for a DC movie. It has earned $93.6 million in its opening weekend itself, making it the biggest ever start in China for any Warner Bros. movie. As per the reports, the movie earned $9.7 million in IMAX alone. The movie has broken many records. Its opening weekend is 92 percent higher than the opening of the Justice League in China. 

This is not all, the movie earned 56 percent higher than the opening of Marvel's Black Panther in China. Aquaman has also exceeded China's entire lifetime gross box office collection of Wonder Woman. Also, this movie is the studio's biggest opening ever as it surpassed Ready Player One's weekend opening. It has also given the biggest opening in China for this month. From the numbers, we can simply say that Warner Bros. decision to release the movie in China earlier than its North American outing has really paid off. 

Talking about the movie, Game of Thrones fame, Jason Momoa stars in the titular role. Director James Wan included some 92 minutes of the specially formatted footage produced to relay for IMAX theatres. The movie had its world premiere in London on November 26, 2018, and will hit screens in North America on December 21. And in India, it will release on December 14, clashing with Marvel's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
