Gully Boy Box Office Prediction Day 1: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's movie to get a flying start
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy all set to release on February 14, 2019. Trade Analyst Girish Johar tells us what the movie might mint on the first day.
Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is all set to release tomorrow, i.e Valentine's Day and the excitement around it is quite palpable. The movie has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and has been inspired from the lives of rappers Divine, Naezy among others. Ranveer and Alia have been going out and about with the promotions and with positive international reviews, one can only hope for a flying start for the movie. Amid huge hype, Trade Analyst Girish Johar tells us what the business circuit for the movie looks like.
Lauding Ranveer and Alia for taking up the movie, Girish said, "First of all, I want to congratulate Ranveer Singh because he has gone out of his way to promote the movie. He has not only targeted the urban metros but also mini metros. That itself speaks about his confidence and belief in the product. Not just that, the movie also has Alia. We all as the audience know that when Alia is in a film, it adds a lot of weight to the film. Ranveer and Alia are a deadly combination. Reacting to the buzz regarding the movie, Johar added, "For Gully Boy, the theme of the movie is based on rap music which in recent times has not been explored much."
"Apart from the trailer, the music has also received a great response. The good part is that they have ticked all the right boxes. The movie is releasing on a non-Holiday weekend and hence I peg the movie to get an opening of around Rs 15 crore and more. If it picks up well, it can go up to 17-18 crore," he stated.

The movie was recently showcased at the Berlin Film Festival where it received raving reviews.
