X Men Dark Phoenix Opening Weekend Box Office Collection India: Sophie Turner starrer FAILS to hit the mark
X-Men Dark Phoenix released this weekend. It was pitted against Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Bharat and it failed to hold a stand.
Like Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Bharat, X-Men Dark Phoenix also release on the occasion of Eid. However, Sophie Turner starrer couldn't replicate the magic of Bharat on the box office. The X-Men movie, which is the last release before Marvel Studios ventures into the X-Men universe following the Disney-Fox acquisition, released amidst poor reviews. The box office report reflects that not only critics, the audience also hasn't given the movie a good word of mouth. As a result, the movie began on a sad note and failed to pick through the five-day weekend in India.
As per Box Office India report, Dark Phoenix has fared "poorly" in its first weekend in India. The publication reveals that the movie collected a disappointing Rs 13.50 crore nett approx. The movie opened to a collection of Rs 3 crores on Wednesday and witnessed a drop on Day 2. The movie collected Rs 2 crores on Thursday and maintained a similar figure on Day 3, with a collection of Rs 2.25 crores. The movie witnessed a rise over the weekend, posing a collection of Rs 3.25 crore on Day 4 and Rs 3 crore on Day 5. 
The site reveals that while the film is finding it a task to stand up against Bharat, the overall movie is also not upto the mark. As a result, Dark Phoenix hasn't performed well in any part of the world, except for China. "Only China can be maybe called good as it has better numbers than the domestic market of US / Canada. If the 13.50 crore nett had come in three days it would not be so bad," the site reports.
X-Men has officially "bombed" at the US box office. According to Variety, Dark Phoenix minted an estimated $33 million in its opening weekend. These box office figures reveal that the movie has recorded the worst opening in the history of the X-Men universe. Dark Phoenix has earned $107 million overseas.
