Bollywood HUNGER GAMES
The Hunger Games just released this weekend. For those of you who have seen the movie or read the books...who would you pick to play the main parts in a Bollywood version? Obviously age wise, the bollywood version would have characters a little older since there are not many teenagers in the industry... I would pick the following: Katniss: Peeta: Gale: Effie: Haymitch: Cinna: Who would you guys pick? (picture from wikipedia)

It's so much easier casting for the older characters because...like I said before...there are hardly any teenage actors!
We need more child/teenage actors...there will be so many more movie ideas out there and different kinds of genres that all bolly fans can enjoy...

I'm stunned by the answers!!! Kareena, Deepika, Priyanka for Katniss? :O You guys do know that Katniss is SIXTEEEN...NONE of these girls would be right for Katniss. I can't even imagine, nor do i want to, anyone from bollywood playing any of these characters. Im a big fan of the books ... bollywood can NEVER make anything even close to it.
This topic has me realized that bollywood don't have any teenage actors! They definitely need more talent in the industry.

If Bollywood had a Hunger Games this is what would happen:
1. No producer would make a big budget action movie starring a heroine so Peeta would become the main character and Katniss's screen time would be very much reduced.
2. Even though Peeta is a 16 year old boy he will be played by some 40+ uncle actor.
3. However Katniss will be a young girl for sure. Because Bollywood never gives importance to talent for actresses, they will not cast a talented actress like Jennifer Lawrence instead they will cast some bikini bimbo who cannot even speak Hindi or act and will most probably be a failed model from Russia or Czech Republic or Canada.
4. Somehow there will be at least one item song. And throughout the movie Katniss will be wearing booty shorts and tiny vests and padded bras.
5. Katniss will be too scared and stupid to save herself and will sit around waiting for the hero uncle to rescue her.
6. The actions sequences will be really tacky, cheap effects and when the male fashion designer comes in to dress Katniss up there will be at least 5 stupid gay jokes.
In short: Bollywood can never make a movie anywhere close to Hunger Games. Please do not ruin it.

who says bollywood will ruin it? hollywood is no different from bollywood...yes there are many amazing hollywood movies, but there are also many great hollywood movies. Furthermore, the action in hunger games is very possible in bollywood if you have watched don 2, ra.one, etc. Oh, and don't judge bollywood just because you've seen all the big releases. If you actually watched some of the lesser known films that rarely make it to cinema but are still bollywood, you would know that there are MANY more great indian films that you havn't given a chance to.

i agree iwth the person who said you need someone younger for katniss (and gale and peeta)...I don't know any younger actresses who have the acting talent and strong looks to pull of a role like this in bolly...besides...bollywood is the land where a 40+ aamir khan played a college student in 3 idiots...they'd make it all work im sure

Are you kidding me? Kareena looks older than Katniss' MOTHER. Just stop...you people are embarrassing. Indian crap shouldn't even touch the Hunger Games. Anyways, if I had to pick someone, I'd pick Priyanka/Sonam...they have a young look and seem like they can carry off action parts.

Katniss: Anushka a clear win, or the lead girl from Mujse Fraandship Karoge
Peeta: A younger more buffed up Siddarth
Gale: A roughened up and subtler Ranveer Singh. The newcomer Arjun Kapoor may also suffice.
Haymitch: A beaten down Shah Rukh Khan would be perfect
Seneca Crane: Saif
President Snow: Naseerudin Shah
Cinna: hmm. Krunal Kapoor maybe.
Effie: Paraneeti Chopra
Both Kareena and Priyanka are too old to play Katniss....need a new fresh face for that role....ALSO LETS NOT RUIN THIS MOVIE BY MAKING A BOLLYWOOD VERSION...
I would pick the following:
Katniss:
Prachi Desai- She has a younger look. Katniss is just a girl.. I think kareena would be a good choice- minus 10 years.
Peeta:
Someone gullible and vulnerable yet strong as hell - Ayushmann (the host)- after hes slimmed down to be a bit scrawny and less bulky.
Gale:
kunal kapoor- hes hunky and cute and would look good with prachi.
Effie:
Raveena Tandon/Manisha Koirala (the character is of an older woman who is particular and somewhat quirky)
Haymitch:
Sanjay Dutt (the caring drunk) ; great choice
I also think Jackie Shroff would do really well.
Cinna: This one is harder...
Farhan Akthar (the cool laid back creative stylist)
Emraan hashmi - hes sexy looking and looks like he would do well in a sympathetic clothes designer part.
