Coming to my question, do you think it is ok for bollywood celebs to dance at weddings? These stars make a lot of money as it is, why dance at weddings? How different are they from bar dancers then[sorry not trying to offend anyone here]? Pay them money, ready to dance anywhere?
On the other hand, it is easy money for them.
I have heard of all top bollywood celebs dance at weddings or new year nights. Katrina kaif apparently is getting paid 2 crore for 2010 new year night dance at a hotel.
The only celebs i have not heard dancing are the bachchans, kajol etc...
So what do you girls think? is this a Yay or Nay from you?

What I find REALLY tacky is the idea that people want to hire entertainers who will overshadow the people who should be the REAL stars of the day...the bride and groom.
Okay, so you have SRK at your wedding, and then everyone knows how much money you have to burn and they come to see SRK. Great, so instead of your special day it's a bleeding SRK concert event! Something is way wrong with those priorities---and don't think for a moment that people who would have shrugged and foregone the wedding won't make a special point to come if they think SRK will be there. I would and I'm sure many of you would...and we don't even KNOW these people!
This is not to say you should have BAD entertainment at your wedding, but it is to say that the outside entertainment shouldn't overshadow the real reason for the celebration or the people who are the reasons for the celebration.
Invite him as a guest, by all means, otherwise...sheesh, and SRK really should get past the "Dance Monkey Dance" mentality. He has enough money to only go to weddings as a guest now. He's a world class actor and performer, not some cheesy wedding entertainment.
The ONLY private entertaining he should be doing is at his childrens' school shows...and that for free. They own him, as they should. He should not let others buy him.

it's tacky but then again, if i could make an easy 1-2 crore just for dancing a few mins at a wedding, i am not sure if i will say no. it depends on how rich i was. if i was REALLY rich like SRK and all these other stars i think it would be cheap, but i might do it if the people would donate that amount of money to my favorite charity. that removes the tacky aspect away from it.

they only have a few releases a year 2-3 for wich they are paid less than 5 crore (the girls) and this performances are just to increase their incomes

Getting your favourite band or singer to perform at your party or wedding is special. IF somebody wants their favourite actor or actress to perform to their favourite song on their special day, whats the fuss??? It keeps people happy. And as someone here already pointed out they are entertainers, they are just entertaining at a different venue. These people get paid to dance at award shows as well.
