i didn't really like the movie, and I didn't think Vidya Balan did that good.
There were good parts, like her award speech and her realizing her wrong doings.. but the rest was too pushy and over the toop, she was trying to hard.
It didnt bother me that she was exposing, but this role didnt suit her, she couldn't handle it in my opinion
As for the story, it started to drag, especially through the second half.
Story kind of reminded me of Fashion, and I just kept imagining that Priyanka would've done better justice to the role (except for the body)
OMG I never thought I would say this, but what a fantastic movie! Vidya is a winner all the way! Super duper performance! Excellently supported by Naseer and Emran. Vidya has really excelled in this role, no inhibitions, no apologies.
why everbody critisizing her for exposing? .......this is huge part of her role in this movie
awesome movie....just happened to see it....Vidya is the hero of the movie :)

so much for legit reasons, they chose the subject so that she can expose. Pretending its a bio is not going to make it a clean picture! and U - brainwashed.
vidya is overrated.
kareena, vidya and priyaka and anushka can act, others r sucks.

the curious thing is silk smitha was always considered vulgar by the masses
but vidya in the dirty picture is anything but.
she has such a dignity even when doing the lascivious lip licking stuff, she is one
classy lady and i hope the picture does wonders

Its the mass that determines whether a movie is a flop or not. There have been several Hindi movies that have impeccable acting, directing and cinematography but have still failed because they are not what the public wants. an example could be with OSO and Saawariya....acting in OSO was horrrrible and the story embaressing. But the mass appeal was good guy defeating bad guy with a couple catchy numbers in there and walllah ..you have a super hit!
With Saawariya, I thought Ranbir's debut was phenomenal. Definitely underrated. Sonam likewise but the mass didnt like it because it lacked any jatka and therefore it was a flop.
Ra One may be a flop...I am yet to see it but atleast base your judgements smartly next time!
Looking forward to seeing the film for Vidya's performance but I must admit that I have lost a lot of respect for the producer and director... everybody knows that it is a film loosely based on/ inspired by the life of Silk Smitha and now Balaji is acting cheap and saying that it isn't based on/ inspired by anybody.

I have not seen the movie,but Vidya's performance looks great . Most of her recent movies have been very interesting & she's not merely been the decorative piece in them. But the storyline seems somewhat similar to Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine'. I mean her struggle,her rise ,her fall & the men in the life of an actress.
It is a Vidya Balan movie.. What do you expect?
I was expecting this this is a lethal combination, Milan and Vidya.. I am sure Vidya is winning lot of awards for this movie.. She is currently number 1 in bollywood.. She is the only one who can ACT.. well done V..
well i really like vidya balan and she is so sweet but i just dont understand how that late woman was considred sexy by people ....what was her name?.......silk smithaa or somthing like that ........when i saw news i did search for that woman but the only thing she wasnt was sexy and pretty ...god...i think there is huge diffrence between being bold and being sexy .....but sure this is good movie .........vidya is great actress
