Courtesy: Open Magazine Some Bollywood stars are better actors off-screen than on screen. While promoting a film they’d starred in together, these two actresses swore undying friendship and mutual respect. The film worked at the box-office, and both the industry and audience was impressed with their closeness. It turns out that this might have all been an act. The senior of the two actresses reportedly breaks into a rash at the very mention of the other actress’ name. She’s not thrilled that the younger star has moved into her territory—strong women-centric films that she was once known for. At a party recently, the senior actress’ filmmaker boyfriend reportedly taunted her when the deejay played a popular song from the other actress’ blockbuster film. Eyewitnesses standing nearby say they heard some of the most foul language ever to emerge from her mouth in response. The star apparently went into an abusive tirade against the younger actress, unconcerned that people could hear her frothing at the mouth.

So much pathetic lies in this crap. Rani and Vidya both said whilst promoting NOKJ that they were not friends but liked each other. Aditya Chopra is the biggest recluse on this PLANET, there is no way he is gonna go to any party (he doesn't even give interviews for his own films, forgodake!) and cause a stir. And Rani? A BILLION times more dignified. This is a horrible, nasty item which basically says Aditya loves humiliating Rani and making her feel like crap. Rajeev Masand makes me sick and I have lost all respect for him. This is late, I know, but PV post this please

Vidya has so far played a grieving sister(Sabrina Lall), a doomed sex symbol in TDP, a single mother struggling with her son's progeria in Paa and a double agent in the recent Kahaani.. plus she is also doing comedy in the upcoming Ghanchakkar.. now if this isn't variety, then I dont know what is... But since you are one biased fan of Rani, you will never view things objectively

Those people calling us Rani fans "biased" should take a good hard look at themselves. Rani has done the whole gamut of roles available to a Hindi actress, glam to de-glam, light roles to serious roles. Vidya's "unbiased" fans can't look beyond their dislike of Rani to see that in every which way Rani is the superior of the two!
Rani "gloomy, deglam, auntiji"? No, you are mistaking Rani for Vidya who is that in real and reel life!

I agree totally, Rani Fans should not see her as an angel. She is just very clever and says that she doesn't know why people have a problem with her, etc. Like dissing Preity although Preity is always very nice to her. I think that Ash is right to expect from a friend to be informed by her when she has been replaced in a movie. But of course Chalte Chalte was a big chance for Rani and thus, she didn't care about the friendship with Ash at all. I find it a bit weird to afterwards say that she doesn't know why Ash is not talking to her. I found it also a bit strange when Karan asked Kareena whether Rani and she are friends and Kareena replied no. Then Rani interfered and said, say that we are friends. There one can see how unfrank she is and how honest Kareena is.

First of all, what have awards got to do with ANYTHING? Winning an award means nothing nowadays. Come on, that's hardly a valid point to back an argument. So, you think that Rani is only limited to one type of role? What the hell are YOU smoking? Look back at Ranis filmography. She has been in the industry longer than Vidya and is still approached for hard hitting scripts.
She wasn't savaged after NOKJ. The thing with Rani is, no matter how bad the movie is, or how bad the script is, her acting is always raved about.
If anyone is typecast, it's Vidya. When Vidya proves herself by doing a full on comedy movie, a full on romantic movie, and manages to gain acclaim in more than 3 movies, that's when she will be compared to Rani.
Until then, Vidya is stuck in the same type of movies, and will never make it as a commercial AND critically acclaimed heroine.
Come back to me in 10 years time, and tell me if Vidya is still going strong, still LOOKING good and still has the ability to a movie like Aiyyaa.

Excuse me MakeupCritic? what the hell are you smoking? Vidya has completely SURPASSED Rani and Vidya is also a National Award winning actress unlike Rani who lost her one and only chance with Black when a small time actress like Sarika unexpectedly stole her thunder and THANK GOD for that.
and please! Rani too is a limited actress herself. She can only play the 'earthy,weepy abla naari' type of roles because she always fell flat on her face whenever she stepped out of her comfort zone. She looked ridiculous when she wore the bikini in Hadippa and the critics savaged her OTT performance in NOKJ.

I do think Rani & Vidya were totally putting on the act of being friends whilst promoting NKJ. Therefore I do believe that Rani could be nasty about her because I've heard she has a temper too.
However, Rani is MILES ahead of Vidya in the Bollywood rat race. Vidya has done about 3 good movies, and her acting capablities are limited. She can't step into all the genres at ease, which is something Rani has always done.

Rani has done plenty of multistarrers, shes always maintained that she isn't BFFs with Priety but they are always warm towards one another. She seems like an introvert although she has a cheerful personality, and I've never heard of her attending a party with her boyfriend in tow, they are always on the down low. People have a beef with her for the silliest things, because she did a film which had a lot of controversy attached to it (the one in which the male lead was SRK) and because of her relationship with Aditya Chopra. And lets set the record straight on one thing, Rani DOES NOT get films because of Aditya Chopra, if that were true she'd be in every YRF production, she doesn't get films because of her boyfriend any more than Vidya gets it for dating the head honcho at UTV. Shes a hell of an actress and her body of work proves that, if people can't see it than its honestly their loss.

Rani is famous for the gaalis she spews. No wonder the Chopras can't stand her. And why be so vocal about it? Not done. Yeh rangmanch hai Rani. Kal tum thi, aaj Vidya, kal koi aur hoga.
Honestly, I've never heard about Rani badmouthing anyone or losing her temper. Maybe she does it in private, but I myself have not read about it before. In all her KWK episodes (which is her comfort zone I admit), and even other interviews, she always answers questions very safely and doesn't say anything that might jeopardize her image... which is why I call her politically correct. She's worked with Kareena and Preity several times, and there has never been signs of insecurity from any of these girls. She doesn't get along with Kajol, but I've never heard of them fight before; yet, they've still worked together, because they're very professional. I mean, what Rajeev is saying might be true, but I for one just can't picture it. Is it because I'm her fan? Heck yea! Just like you all defend your favorite stars against bad gossip, I will do the same. And that's exactly what these blind items are...gossip.

Rajeev is always trying to make some derogatory remarks about Rani. As he knows there's no interview coming his way he is trying to malign Rani. There are people out there in the fraternity who can't bear to see Rani back in the lime-light hence these made-up stories, well timed with the release of Aiyya promos.
Had Vidya's promos come out Rajeev would have made glowing comments on his twitter account but because it's Rani, not a mention. That in itself speaks volumes! Wouln't want to help with positive remarks now would we Rajeev!
