So we know Sajid Khan (director of Housefull 2) cares less for critics & believes in entertaining the audience!
Heres what the critics & box office had to say about his latest film starrring Akshay Kumar, Asin Thottumkal, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Zarine Khan, Shazahn Padamsee, Shreyas Talpade
Raja Sen - 1 Star
Housefull 2 is shamefully bad. So bad that Ranjeet - the rapey villain of yore - who appears in one scene, is the most dignified thing about the film.
filmitadka - 2 stars
Last time they had the Queen, this time there is Prince Charles. There isn’t an ounce of sensible or clever humour. The characters call each other names like they were in grade school.

The movie is definitely not a laugh-riot, but it doesn’t fail to bring out chuckles in bits. In various parts, the director has tried very hard to force a laugh, but fails to bring out even a smile. The first half is fun, yet disappointing for a movie that promises to be a hilarious hoopla. The second half starts with entertaining portions, but the excitement takes a back seat as it proceeds. The climax is stretched, yet acceptably amusing in parts. Infused in generous portions are action sequences which are more entertaining than the comedy.

If you are a moviegoer who derives pleasure from loud comedies with over-the-top humor that defy logic at every opportunity, I am sure, you will relish this wacky slapstick. If your idea of watching a comedy is to have a good time at the movies, then HOUSEFULL 2 is especially designed for you.
sify.com - 2 stars
Directed by Sajid Khan, the film’s finale is funny—both intentionally an unintentionally. The physical slapstick comedy is straight out of a kids’ movie, but it is charmingly daft. You cannot help let out a laugh or two.
Rajeev Masand - 1 Star
Housefull 2 is for four-year-olds who don’t know any better. For anyone with taste, or anyone seeking genuine laughs, there’s nothing here. I’m going with one out of five for director Sajid Khan’s Housefull 2. I’d rather watch reruns of his TV shows instead; they were pure gold compared to this drivel!
TOI - 3stars
Housefull-2 is a bag of laughs with eye-candy - Akshay in linens, Jacqueline in minis - and some crackling performances. Mithun commands with sheer presence while the climax belongs to rip-roaring Lever. Riteish plays 'helpless' with flair while a guest scene by '70s veteran Ranjeet - "From rapist to therapist" - provides a vibrant stroke of colour on this house-wall. Abraham manages the muscle-man while Malaika Arora Khan sizzles in 'Anarkali Disco Chali' - and an oomphy little scenario later.

Though the film has certain glitches, one can easily overlook them, for the film certainly promises a great deal of laughter that will leave you pleading for a break. Your jaws will be tired laughing and so will your tummy that might suffer cramps! The first half keeps you busy as you will stop munching your bucket of pop-corn. However, the second half is a bit of a drag that has some clichéd dialogue and contriving situations that might leave you wondering about their inclusion in the film.

Did I laugh? Sparingly, yes. Ranjeet, Bollywood's iconic rapist, has a fun cameo. But mostly, Housefull 2 was so exhausting that at one point, I grew nostalgic for Rohit Shetty's Golmaal series - another full-blown nonsensical outing but with far more energy than this. However, the actors all look like they are having fun - Akshay Kumar and John Abraham also get to show off some nifty fight moves in a few pasted-on action sequences, which of course have little bearing on anything else. But the actresses are locked into a weird pouting contest. Each one sports lips that seem especially inflated for their close-ups. And the acting is laughably bad - Shazahn Padamsee and Zarine Khan (who inexplicably plays a character named JLo) are the joint winners of the worst performance award.
Box Office India - Housefull 2 Opens Well At Multiplexes
Housefull 2 took a good opening at multiplexes with collections in the 70-75% region on average.

Wow from where do people get so much negayivities. Some of them have not even watched the film and still writing 500 words essays explaining how they have saved their money and how bad the film is. They are acting like they have won world war 3 by saving money and not watching the film.... Do you guys have any other job or are you on pinkvilla for full time writing nonsensical comments on every single posts being posted here..post this pinkvilla
I cannot stand mocies like housefull too. Or Golmaal, golmaal returns, bhagam bhaag etc. All cheap humor. NOT FOR ME.
even people's reviews are negative.
but what does the collections signify ? It tells that people love watching beautiful babes...skimpy outfits..Item songs.
Obviously. The film looks awful. Way too many actors meaning that each one gets less screen space. I wanted this film to do well for Akshay but when I saw the trailer, I knew this film would be crap.
I am so surprised that the veteran actors chose to do this film. Out of all the films..this?!
Hopefully Akshay's next few films are good. I have my hopes for Rowdy Rathore..
Do u still take the reviws of these biased critics seriously? Take forinstance the glowing. Reviews given to Ek main aur sk tu and remember what happened to the film. Just don't allow such reviews stop you from having a very good laugh.
sajid khan is getting senile
i think the only reason HF2 opens well at BO is bcoz of money....box office cares only about money money and money ! blody monkey !
my rating is 0.5 star of 10 star.
Acting, script, direction, story overall a bad feeling. Looks like some monkey circus. This types of movie will go Indian cinema/ Bollywood downward to Tamil or more than low standard class. Hope public will boycott this type of low class cinema and acting. If producer and actor don't responsible their work, public will reject them to recycle. Well fuller publicity for fool people. Its not good for bollywood that they don't have good as three Khan. Three Khan different from other for their thoughtful acting. Bollywood please produce actors like Shahrukh, Aamir & Salman otherwise after these 3 khan this industry will be vanished.
Well I watched it last night and I loved it. I had a good laughter and didn't get bored as well.
Stupid films with nonsensical content like this one always do well! The Indian audiences lap up such drivel and encourage film makers to churn out more of this crap! It's the cycle of mediocrity that makes people like Sajid khan and Farah khan directors! While directors such as Zoya Akthar who made the gorgeous Luck by Chance had to suffer a flop!
The movie is an action packed adventure with good comedy. The movie is better than previous housefull, ready and bodyguard. It is a good family entertainer. Go for it and dont miss the movie.
Someone please kill sajid and akshay.
Blockbuster written all over it..
I watched Housefull 2 without any expectations and it was a hilarious movie. It makes us laugh through out. Who cares if it lacked logic inbetween, it surely was made to entertain people and it didnt disappoint in that aspect. Lots of fillers were used to pull it out as a whole packaged movie though. Must watch for those who wants to have a good laugh. Seriously everyone in the theater were laughing out loud and enjoying their stay.
Coming back to the performance, Akshay was super cool with his dialogues and his body language and I must say Ritesh was the show stealer in this movie. John was a huge disappointment and i could understand why he was in this movie. May be too add more weight. Shreyas was ok and the four veterans did a good job too with Mithunda standing out.
Asin was the best among the actresses and she was at her best this time with her presence n looked overly gorgeous and had few moments to show her acting abilities even though they were quite short sequences. Jaquline was pathetic to say the least in those few scenes she appeared. The other two girls Shazhan and Zariene doesnt have much to do either. The movie was all about the four Jolly's four papa's and Asin(only just).
Overall a nice entertaining movie with superb timing and comedy sense. Watch it in theatres for Akshay, Ritesh and Asin. I'm sure the money spent will not be waste. Total fun and lots of entertainment.
This movie is a disaster, worse than the first one, please dnt waste ur money so not worth it. I watched it last night, padamse and zarine barely have any screen space. They are all overacting, akshay was really bad, the only two that did any good acting was ritesh and shreyas. Sajid needs to put in more time into making movies rather than trying to just rip ppl off through just songs.
One thing that really made me mad was the ending of the movie its again a chaos thing happens like housefull 1 or just housefull I guess.
Malaika was totally annoying to the core.
even jhoom barabar jhoom in 2007 got a great opening of almost 100% but it was a disaster. i feel h2 will do well but it wont cross 100 crores like sajid was saying.
watching even its 2-minute trailer was sheer torture... so i can imagine how bad the film could be... i guess the only joke could be that all people who agreed to do the film actually thought it would be a hit
any body watched it????? reviews pls....
Now not going to watch for sure....
I was gonna watch it but not now...after reading all the reviews...
Hopefully, Sajid Khan will finally learn a lesson to stop making crap like this and the other Housefull. Just because you have an ensemble casts consisting legends does not mean the movie is going to do well. You can't expect people to act dumb and laugh at lame jokes. I'd rather watch a Salman Khan masala flick any day instead of sitting through this 3 hours of BS!
Don't go with all the above critics. The film is full of fun. All the audience were laughing their heart out while watching this film. These critics should go to uni's or school's to teach if they want seriousness and meaningful theories, not criticising cinema's. Films are for timepassing, not for research and development for human resources. Definitely worth the money. This film is for everybody from kids to grownups. watchout it will do a very good business.

The only reason films open well at the box office, is because of all the promotion they do prior to the film releasing. So it makes people curious to go watch the film, after they watch it they realize how stupid the film is. and tell others who might not wanna waste their money. Which is why it does poorly after. to me box office opening means nothing.
...
I second it... n look at this loser taran adarsh! he gave 4 stars to agent vinod! LMFAO n later declared it a flop as per the collections! He does not deserve to be a critic since he is not fair at all!
It is a good time pass movie. Definitely worth watching once.
good entertainment.
they saved money on female cast.. all C grade stuff.
