Gone the days when actresses like Hema Malini and Sridevi used to charge more than the heroes if not equal.
WHY isn't emraan hashmi on this list? He better be earning as much as Ranbir. Granted the guy doesn't work with the biggest banners but he is the only one who has given consistent hits in his career unlike Ajay and Sanjay who have had flops.

Ajay Devgan deserves to be paid more than Akshay Kumar! Ajay has been consistent and his films did 100 crore+ without any marketing or promotion! He's a two time National Award winning actor! Why should he be ignored in favour of overrated khiladi?
Actresses are still believed to be replaceable lot. Even despite their peak, heroines like Hema, Sridevi, Madhuri used to get paid far less than their male counterparts.
Among male actors, guys like Imran, Shahid are grossly overpaid! One can understand Sanjay Dutt or Saif get more money probably because they are senior and are also producers. What have Imran and Shahid done? Ever given a hit on their own? Without an established actress or their uncle making films for them?
Bloody hell!!!! Katrina 3 to 4 cr for what darling? to exemplify what bad acting should be like? or to expose to the world how good looking you are? ridiculous
The only heroines that should be even getting money are Priyanka, Kareena and Vidya (maybe Anushka)
But Deepika, Sonam & Katrina? They should be getting 1 crore max. They don't DO anything.
PC, Vidya & Bebo are expected, at times to carry an entire film on their shoulders, but because of the stereotype of actresses, get paid the same as Katrina does for standing in a Manish Malhotra saree romancing Akshay. It doesn't require the same amount of talent, but because actresses are known to be the "glam dolls" they all get paid the same.
The actors (most) do deserve the amount they're getting because the success of the film depends on them, thus why SRK gets 20 crores, and John gets 7, for example. SRK's film is more likely to be a hit, so it costs more to get him in a movie.

Aamir is in a league of his own. He does not try to make extra money by even going to the extent of charging fees to attend people's private parties. Nor does he dance at others' weddings or do any stage/award shows or make guest appearances. He does not go to the extent of doing even ads for alcoholic drinks to make quick bucks. He is very careful and selective about products he endorses. Still he's the highest paid actor of Bollywood! Talent and quality speak for itself!
Aamir Khan deserves it! His films are all successes and give profits. And his track record has been flawless in last decade. Plus he budgets his films sensibly. Never goes overboard. And as a brand ambassador he brings a sense of exclusivity to any brand, because he does not do too many endorsements.
His films have assured quality, good content and every filmmaker is forever vying to sign him because his name brings a certain value, because he enjoys respect and trust among audiences.
His strategy for keeping share in profits is good. He takes responsibility in case the film does not succeed. If the film is a success, he gets lot more money due to share as per profits, and if the film is not successful, then he gets less money. He is not like other stars who take their paychecks worth crores in advance, while the burden of film's failure falls completely on producer's shoulder.
LOL at a useless hater who thought Aamir's fees is a share in budget!! Poor guy or gal did not know the difference between budget or profit I guess.
And to the person who said SRK's films are bigger hits internationally - please look up box office websites dear! In any Indian film's revenue, 50% share of collections depend on money the film made in India! Overseas accounts for only 16-20% of an Indian film's revenue! Also, Aamir's 3 Idiots is the biggest grosser - both in India and overseas now. It's funny how fans of a star ignore the 1.2 billion people of India and think the entire box office collection and profits of an Indian film depend on overseas! :D

Now scroll up and read it again. Do you know how much money 3 idiots and Ghajini have made? And FYI, TZP, Dhobi Ghat were produced by himself. He doesn't have to share his profit. He demands a lion's share only in the movies that are not produced by him.
I think salman and katrina are very lucky otherwise they dont have talent.
Both priyanka and vidya are smart actresses. Pc know how to make any apart from movies and vidya choice of movies are superb.

I don't think the number for the actors is correct. Akshay cannot get paid 18-20 crore a movie. Housefull -2 's budget is 45 crore, producer -director are not going to pay akshay 20 crore , and then keep aside the remaining 25 crore for paying the remaining 11 actors, technicians, sets, marketing , productions costs, etc etc. Its just not possible.Same for his other movies- patiala house, thank you, khaat meeta, houseful, action replay they are overall made at budget of 35-40 crore, how can he get 20 crore in that?

Disusting. Aamir was paid 40 crores for Dhoom 3 and Salman was paid 38 crores for Ek Tha Tiger so what does that leave for the heroines? Oh yeah 3 to 4 crores, thats it! I get that the Khans have the right to demand big paychecks since they are big box office draws but demanding up to 40 crores and leaving NOTHING for the actresses is just plain ridiculous. No wonder the actresses are so underpaid in this industry.

Katrina and Vidya should be paid much more. They generate better returns than the other actresses and some actors. Anushka, Shahid, Deepika and Imran (though I love him) should be paid less.
The women who only play small eye candy roles and can't pull in the box office numbers should not be paid more just because they're being paid less than the men. The men who play small bogus roles and don't pull in the numbers should be paid an equally low salary to the low performing women.
Bollywood films are almost always made for profit and the pay should be given out according to the actor's profitability. The Khans are profitable :)

Actresses should at least deserve half the price of what top male stars are getting paid. Dunno why such attitude persists against these actresses. its gender discrimination. Priyanka, kareena and vidya are reigning actresses they deserve to be paid more than this undeserving male actors like john abraham and sanjay dutt. Amitabh gets paid 4 to 6 crores when he should be getting more. His charismatic presence still adds value to any movie. Hrithik should charge more. :D
