Isolation of Priyanka Chopra[An article by Masand] ?
I never believed any stories of Priyanka Chopra being isolated in the industry. But a lot of stories going on in the media lately makes me think otherwise. There was this news of her doing Karan Johar's next opposite Hrithik. Hrithik's party clearly denied the story. What took the cake was Rajeev Masand's column in Open Magazine this week. Please read it and share your comments. Guests who attended Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta’s 40th birthday celebrations at Land’s End Hotel in Bandra last Saturday have been sniggering at the snub Priyanka Chopra reportedly got from Karan Johar. At least two eyewitnesses say the actress gave a warm hug to her Dostana producer, who is believed to have returned the embrace, but didn’t exactly stick around to chat. Johar was seen spending time with Sonam Kapoor and Preity Zinta, but allegedly maintained a distance from Priyanka, who he is still supposedly mad at. Story goes that in the wake of all the negative publicity the actress has been receiving lately (mostly for her rumoured link-up with Shah Rukh Khan), Priyanka’s publicists planted a story that the actress had been signed up for Johar’s next production, an adaptation of the bestseller The Immortals of Meluha opposite Hrithik Roshan. The idea behind planting the story was to dispel rumours that actors and filmmakers were no longer willing to work with her. But Johar reportedly blew a fuse when the story ran, insisting that he didn’t even have a script ready for the project, and was many months away from casting actors and actresses for the movie. The filmmaker apparently has no immediate plans to work with Priyanka, lest it jeopardises his long friendship with SRK’s wife Gauri. No wonder he wasn’t thrilled with false stories claiming the contrary.

I guess karan johar is not the only director or producer in bollywood. Priyanka is talented so soon or later she do get some work for sure.
Takes two to tango. It's funny that Priyanka is the one being snubbed when SRK is the one that's married. Where are the pitchforks out for him? For that reason alone, i will not hate on Priyanka. She's no saint and is very much a sinner, but so is SRK. And for the media to demonise her while letting the so-called 'King Khan' off the hook is disgraceful and sickening.
All this doesn't matter till pc acts well
She is on top of her career n has enough projects currently
Also SRK get cold shoulders. Hrithik&Arjun left Daboo Ratnanis launch without greeting him when he arrived, since when they were not seen together and Karan Johar too is not seen with him very often. The split between SRK and Gauri is so obviously. She is attending launchs and partys with the Rampals and he doesn´t followed Arjun on twitter anymore (ridicolous).
First of all, if a person doesn't stay to CHAT with you, means they have "snubbed" you? How do you know for sure. If Priyanka were that isloated and hence all down on herself, she wouldn't be winning awards for her work, look so great, give performance in shows etc. etc. If indeed this happened, I am on Priyanka's side. She has everything working for her and will remain a success because of her attitude, aspirations, hardwork. Her loved ones are close to her, and that's all matters. If people ignore her, it's their hang-up and problem. Priyanka, let it go and keep charting your course as you are.

Priyanka's fans expect people to always love her and kiss up to her. Sorry, in reality it doesn't always happen that way. Anyone have the right to do what they feel like. Karan Johar is not bound to a life contract with Priyanka or Shahrukh Khan. Karan has the right to say or to do whatever the bloody hell he wants..........
This the medias favorite story to tell, and it's not true. It only takes one media outlet to highlight and outrageous story and then the rest follow.

i dont understand the hypocrisy and double standards in bollywood. it takes 2 to cheat so why isnt srk getting any blame for anything? why is it when a man cheats its ok but not for a woman?
shame on you karan johar, greedy for films with srk the big star and so are willing to excuse him? he was more to blame as gauri is his wife, he owes gauri something priyanka owes gauri nothing. srk is the biggest perpetrator here

I think the double standards thing doesn't apply here - in my view, the whole thing was a PR stunt gone wrong on PC's side and she totally is paying for it. It doesn't have any thing to do with double standards. She's an idiot.

A man screws over his wife (admittedly that marriage has been a joke for years but at least Gauri had public dignity as did her TWO CHILDREN) to be with a younger piece of ass. Priyanka, knowing damned well what her main selling point is---and she must since she obviously realises her looks are her key to fame or else why all the surgery---wanted to "beat" Gauri, just as she wanted to "beat" Twinkle.
She was never really interested in Shahid since there was no challenge of another woman there for her to feed her vanity on.

SRK is a joke and Priyanka is dirt. The "youth" thing doesn't last forever missy, and that's what REAL feminism is about, seeing the value and the worth and the lovability in a woman who is 40 or 50 or more. Seeing her worth as a human soul and not a young piece of ass.
If she's trading on her youth to prey upon other womens' happiness she's low life garbage and a REAL independent woman stands on her OWN TWO FEET, like Vidya Balan and doesn't make her whole being revolve around her looks and how many men she can entice. It's called INTEGRITY and neither Priyanka NOR SRK have it.
He's in the more powerful position and her power only lasts as long as she can afford to keep her tits and ass lifted and her face filled to bursting with restylane or whatever dermal filler she uses.

Dude, its not just coz she's the woman that she is being singled out. If the affair was true (and not just some crazy hothead at Don 2 Publicity Machine) then I'm sure SRK is feeling the heat behind the doors too. He is too powerful to feel it publicly.
Besides, PC has a PROVEN HISTORY of messing with married men. When it has happened more than once I think there is an obvious problem. Twinkle Khanna has banned AK from working with her, would it be that surprising if Gauri bans her too. I think she should def feel the repurcussions. I don't understand how a woman can go for another woman's man when they are a family, with children. Its sickening. There must be a million guys that would be happy to be with PC.

you all got fooled by SRK's PR machinery. I really dont know if it is from srk's side or priyanka's side that these stories are being spread. Anyway, before a link-up between SRK-PC started up, as u all remember, SRK was so much being talked about for his sexuality. (This is not a hate comment..so pls keep reading). At that point priyanka or any other actress nowhere around SRK. All of them around him were buddy buddy types. Even priyanka who had earlier done films with SRK and gave the same vibes around him as others.
Somewhere along the way, SRK couldnt hide some of his feellings towards men and people started taking serious notice and this was slowly but steadily talked about topic. I dont know , to be honest, whether Karan and SRK are together or not, but while Salman and other big actors all giving macho images (or at least pretending to be so), It was high time SRK changed his ladies buddy image before it is too late.
Kareena who was shooting at the same time with SRK was not an option since she is already occupied and also people will not believe a story like that. So PC was the next best option who happened to shooting for DON2. I dont know about others, but for me, this was so transparent. People are quick to judge, and blame the woman saying home wrecker. The whole focus shifted elsewhere as they wanted and as planned. Come on , does SRK look like he wants an extra marital affair with a woman. I know people hate to admit it so that is fine. If u happen to love someoen deeply then you dont want to believe what you are not comfortable with or think someone is targeting the start because they hate him or against a personal agenda.
But I love his movies. He has his own charm. But this guy loves to prance around ladies, adore their beauty. ok fine. but he does it in a very effiminate way. Anyway the point of this comment is not to find out whether he is gay or not. If u agree or not that is up to u. But here, poor PC became a victim. use ur brains. Unlike Akki, SRK is a married man with a difference, he is a Moslem. If the rumour is true and he is in love with PC; he should step up to the plate and marry her. Moslems are allowed 4 wives!
this is a first time that i'm hearing this. Can someone enlighten me to the reason exactly why she's being snubbed??? she's obviously a very talented and professional acctress; whatever happens in her personal life doesn't really reflect on her acting, so even if she supposedly doesn't have any morals when she sleeps with a married man, i fail to see why anyone in the industry would snub her. i really hope PC can show these hyprocrites of the industry that she can stand on her own and doesn't need to lean on anyone. I know that she'll pull thru bc she's the most ambitious person in the industry.
Only SRK, Gauri, Hrithik and Karan know how the real Priyanka is like. We in the public only know the money making, image making persona of the woman.
This article irritates me, because Rajeev seems to take some glee in spreading this "news." That said, if Karan is shunning Priyanka, his loss. Whatever, Priyanka is unbelievably talented, and will continue to do amazing work with those who appreciate her talent. This actually might be a blessing in disguise. Maybe now she will be free to work with more avant garde directors and productions houses with interesting stories to tell.
And yeah, amen to everyone talking about double standards and the scapegoating of women in Bollywood.

PC and Hrithik are such a bland, boring pair. No chemistry at all. Then again PC herself is so bland.

She did not cheat for sure. And even if she did, there is no reason why people's personal life should be under scrutiny and mixed up with their professional abilities. Clearly it is the industry who has preconceived ideas and highly judgmental. Priyanka is still talented and willing to work. I am even sure that the story here is as it said just a "story". There is no evidence to suggest that this version of facts is correct.
As long as she has SRK on her side,she has nothing to fear from the industry. She is also talented enough to make it on her own. Don't understand this Priyanka hate;she is the pride of Bollywood along with a few others . GO PC.
