Is it appropriate for Mahesh Bhatt to cast porn-star Sunny Leone?
Do you think this is appropriate for Mahesh Bhatt to cast the porn star Sunny Leone in a bollywood movie? is it appropriate for the society and will you accept it? I personally don't think this girl can act, yes pornstars act but it is ALSO natural - you know why! lol. What do you think? Do you think this is appropriate for Sunny Leone to be cast in a Bollywood movie due to her profession?

I support sunny leone and bhatt on this because everyone deserves a chance and sunny leone should be able to act in a Bollywood movie who cares if she chose the pornstar industry. She has the right to atleast try to act in Bollywood movie and besides most Bollywood movies already have sex scene in them and I know it's fake, and most of the people in the porn videos are fake too so why can she not have a chance like all the other actresses I'm not a fan of sunny leone but I still say she has the right and she has to be given a chance to perform on the Bollywood movies.
Yes she should because everyone deserves a chance and she is a human too just like the rest of us it's not like pornstars are an animal because they choose to be pornstars. They have every right to do this and and have every right to change themselves, and if u don't like her then don't watch her movies. It doesn't matter what kind of profession they have as long as they act good. I haven't seen any of her porn videos but I guarantee you she would be a great actress. And I'm not a fan of her but still though she should have a chance just like the rest of the Bollywood actresses, I will vote for her to be in the Bollywood movies.

It's all about money and fame only. Sunny Leone never thought of this change before...why?? Guys in India already spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to find half naked clips and morphing naked bodies on their actresses faces. Now, they'll be very happy but seriously is sunny leone any more than a porn star?
Can she act, dance, emote? I couldn't care less what she has done before as long she can act which I sincerely doubt. If she gets top billing in any movie then it's obvious Bollywood standards are going down. Not because of the porn star business but because as of now she has nothing more to offer. There are many many girls who want to be stars; they are pretty, dedicated, hard working and talented but they can't get work because either the directors want foreign girls or because they want shock factor and skin show.

Oooo...this topic is so debatable and people can say so much about it. Before I present mine, I want to say that EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION, so I don't believe that mine is the only correct view.
Regarding the topic of casting Sunny, there are a few sides to coming to a conclusion.
Firstly, someone in the previous posts commented on how Katrine and Giselle have been "disappointments". I must say that Katrina's acting has improved a lot since she started. It is quite difficult to bring out facial expressions and get a grip on the body language when an actress struggles with the spoken language. Katrina's facial expressions and language has improved, and hopefully, her journey continues fruitfully. As for Giselle, we have only seen her in Love Aaj Kal (or at least that's what I know of) and there she had very limited dialogues.
Now coming to Sunny, yes she has a language problem just like Katrina and Giselle, however Katrina has had the help of various established industry people, mainly Salman Khan in her grooming which made the process a lot easier for her. I am not sure of Giselle's affiliations and as for Sunny, I do not see any acting abilities in her yet. Porn is of not much acting except for making fake expressions by pouting or biting down lips, and making noises which even the common person can do; sex is one of the most natural activities. Btw, Vidya Balan in The Dirty Picture did a perfect portrayal of these expressions! Sunny perhaps only has Mahesh Bhatt's support in order to do so, and I completely agree that his choice of Sunny comprised greatly of her natural instinct of being able to shed her clothes, if not fully. She has not gone through any auditions for the movie to prove her credibility.
Secondly, Mahesh Bhatt called his hater a "hypocrite" in Arjun Rampal's show, Love 2 Hate U because "according to him" she was contradicting herself and also angered Bhatt by basically calling his movies a milder version of hardcore porn. However, if you read about Sunny's personal beliefs, she is a Sikh but follows it only theory. She visits the Sikh temple every sunday and believes in the Sikh scriptures but does not conform to what doesn't bode well for her career. According to every religion that I possibly know of, pornography is perhaps, NOT ACCEPTABLE! So isn't that quite hypocritical of her, and also for Bhatt to work with a hypocrite that he publicly condemns!
Personally, I don't look down on pornstars; it's their life, and what happens in our afterlives (if you believe in it) is solely based on our deeds. Their actions make no difference to my life. But I also think that although Bollywood and India as whole is progressing, Indians are deeply rooted to some beliefs and traditions in which the acceptance of a porn star will be miraculous! I feel that many mainstream actors may not wish to work with Sunny and she will have to stay with Bhatt's paradigm.

i dont support sunny at alll coz she comes for a good well off family and she was studying pre medicine and den she went in pornography...she wasnt forced she made a easy choice to sell her body for money....she was even ashamed to tell on bigg boss wat her profession was......i feel men or women who r into pornography are worst den animals coz dey do it only for money....she shud have not even come on tv she is not worth it.....
I was born in the west and grown up there, I am also very tolerant but my tolerance stops with Sunny's profession. I understand women who are forced by certain circumstances to chose this profession and understand their situation but I don't have sympathies towards people like Sunny who chose this porn industry to make money... they were not poor....
this week family members of the Bigg Boss contestants came to visit them in the house but no one from the family and friends of Sunny came, so I don't think her family is okay with her profession as she claims .... even if her supporters say, her family and friends live in the US and could not come but I don't think her family would come to national tv and say, hey we are okay with her being a porn star as we also benefit from her money...

First of all I am American and I do not support the porn industry. It is a sad place filled with drugs, disease and perversion. Unfortunately it has been glorified mostly because people are naturally attracted to sex (in our nature) and because it seems exotic. However, I believe that the kind of industry she is in creates a world that is unrealistic and subjegates women. Whether she realizes it or not, Ms. Bhatt is trying to fill her heart with fame and adoration no matter what it is for. Her life may feel good for now, but it will not be fullfilling in the long run. It also sets a poor ideal for men and women about what women are (objectifies them). Yes we are sexual creatures, but we are humans too--not plastic dolls that you can use and play with. In my mind, your body is like a temple and you should respect it. Showing everyone the most intimate part of yourself and not saving it for yourself or your loved one is just a shame.
Completely agree with Rlitya. I dont feel sorry for ppl as sunny, who forced her into it anyway? she got into it herself and no self respecting woman does that. Why choose a profession like that wen u can do any other respectable job? it says a lot about her.
A friend of mine once said that for strippers its thier job, so what if its stripping, its just thier job. I lost all respect for him that day. I told him that even a physically challenged person can find a job to do, so what makes it hard for these perfectly fit women with fully functional hands and legs like everyone else to get a respectable job?
All those days about the women being helpless and being forced into such professions is gone. Even if thats how someone entered the profession, they can stil make a choice to get out of it even if they have to deal with the society talking things about them. Then again its the same society that watches such stuff in secret and when these women want to make a decent living they make it hard for them.
I guess we all are to blame in the end:
1. For watching such stuff and making these movies box office hits
2. For ostracising these women when they want to leave prostitution and make a decent living.

We all know the trend of bringing in foreigners and skin show always works in makin the movie a hit thanks to the disgusting people who go and watch it. Any bollywood movie has to have some smooching and uninhibited skin show. Any song you see these days has a couple of firang chicks in bikinis gyrating in the bkground or as the main item Dirty number like that of catarina lopez. They are less inhibited about shedding clothes and it works for our movie makers. And like its not enough some news channels carry thier pictures on thier sites regurlarly as bollywood updates to make it interesting for people ? How sick!
What happened to all the sense of sanctity we all once had? We live in the US and we have friends who visit us and thier wives turn up in cleavage poppin, leg baring attires all for one casual time togethr. I feel absolutely no respect for women who do it. It just totally ruins the day for me when my husbands eyes go ther; he is decent and its not like he does it on purpose but its all like popping in your face! Its plain disgusting when women dress up like that in front of thier husbands male friends. ITs best when things that are meant for your husband be kept for him to look at, rather than baring it while goin with anyone and everyone.

I agree with the person who said hollywood doesn't take porn stars in their movies as leads, if they do they normally play themselves. Sasha Grey had to officially retire from porn to get the acting gig in Entourage. Plus american movies and tv shows have a rating system, however faulty, it atleast doesn't let children watch programs with an adult content.

This is ridiculous, with some of u saying it is appropriate.. Ok, true that people love sex and don't shy away from it, but then there's a huge difference between that and stripping buck naked in front of a camera and having random men screwing u, with a million people watching u.. Would u actually be happy if your daughter/sister/someone close to u did that? Think about that.. Its that she chose to do this, she had a choice, but she went for it, instead of choosing a respectful profession.. Her parents must be feeling horribly awful, and probably must've disowned her!

I don't know whether Sunny should be a Bolly star, but at least lets not drag USA into it. The US is a very open country but there have been no famous porn stars who became hollywood stars. A few like Stallone did some C list movies but they were not full on porn films. Nor do they flaunt the fact. I can see porn on TV, but I can also block channels with parental control if there are kids including MTV if I want. Can you do that?
The American kids programming are very good e.g. sesame street or even Dora and DIego, not to mention Discovery and National Geo. Do we have anything of same quality produced in India? Indian kids watch way more crap adult programming than American kids.
There are crap reality programs produced for TV but also very high quality serials like Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy, 30 ROck etc.
So if India wants to make a porn star a mainstream star, fine. But don't say US did it first. They did not. India will be the first country to do this.
And by the way why not make one of those lovely bar dancers or even that slum dog girl Rubina a star????? Or do they need to do some international porn to be acceptable?
