Karan Johar talks about the misunderstandings with Priyanka Chopra
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror Karan Johar talks about Priyanka Chopra and how he was fuming during that time. The story goes that Priyanka's unnamed friends strongly defending her in the allegations of a rumoured affair with Shah Rukh Khan and hinting that Karan Johar had been bitching about her. Fuming at these allegations, Karan had tweeted, "Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so called "friends" to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame!!" He added: "Some people need to wake up and smell the KOFFEE!!! Get a reality check before it's too late!!! Grow up!!! and don't mess with goodness." Well, Priyanka did have her side of the Story However, Karan repents for this outburst now. He says, "I picked up the phone and reacted like a pressure cooker. Then I realised it wasn't worth it. I called her and said I was turning 40. I have a great EQ (emotional quotient) with her. I've shared several warm moments with PeeCee. Since I am the older one, I decided to be mature." Perhaps that's why he did not mind seeing pictures of the actress at Salman Khan's house either. "I am only interested in what is written about me." Good to see these two patching up.

Have you been living under a stone??? The rumors of the so-called affair did die at the early stages as soon as they started! They started sometime in October 2011 and died down just 3 or 4 months later. Right now only some dense headed losers are talking about it, like the few desperate haters on PV. Hence it is proved that the affair rumor was just that, a bloody rumor created by trouble makers who wanted to harm SRK! Now no one knows who these trouble makers were...for all you know it could have been PC herself or someone else in the industry. There is no shortage of people who badly dislike the self-made and super popular SRK in the dirty Indian Film Industry! He is an outsider after all who came and conquered and is still ruling! And please don't tell me that a few mindless Sallu movies that made 100 cr has done anything to SRK's popularity and the fact that he is still ruling Bollywood as King Khan! Too bad these trouble makers died miserably! It backfired on them and SRK is still the same loved and popular King Khan that he was! In fact I would say his fan base and their love for him has increased and became stronger!

Clearly, he's finally realized it's none of his business. If Gauri wants to stay with a man who is seeing someone else, that's her choice. If there's nothing going betweeen SRK and Priyanka, then him sticking his nose in and jumping to conclusions was wrong. Whatever is really going on, has nothing to do with Karan Johar. PC spoke the truth she didnt embarrassed anyone. This is what she observed and what was told to her by the other females. Ppl can't respect the fact that she's a very private person and when she don't speak about something it means it's true. Wake up ppl.

I am surprised by the naiveté if some of the comments on this thread. Karan is probably one of THE most powerful people in Bollywood. He produces several films with Bollywood's top talent every year. He has already released a 100-crore film this year, and has a Rohit Shetty film and (in all likelihood) a Hrithik Roshan film coming out. If anything, female actors are going to be currying favor with him.
It's sad but true that, in Bollywood, mainstream female actors are interchangeable, unless their selling point isn't sex appeal or youth and is, instead, acting prowess or unmistakable box office draw. There are only two Hindi film leading ladies who have real box office draw. The first is Katrina Kaif, who (for reasons unknown to me) has an incredible level of hysteria amongst fans and incredible audience goodwill. The second is Vidya Balan, who lends a patina of respectability and an assurance of quality to any project she is part of. She is the Aamir Khan of medium-budget indie-ish films. These are the only two female actors who can bring an audience into the theatre purely based on their name on the marquee (we all know MBKD wasn't sold on Imran's name and that Kahaani, without the sensationalism of TDP or Emraan's presence, still did gangbusters at the box office). Also, these two female actors promote their films like no other and are actively involved with the marketing of their movies. The other female actor who has any sort of independent box office draw, though not perhaps at the same level yet, is Kareena Kapoor (again, EMAET was her film, not IK's) - this, of course, may change if Heroine does very, very well.
Karan does NOT need to apologize to PC, and he hasn't. He's saying he's repaired the relationship with her. He isn't saying she wasn't at fault for whatever came between them. Love 'em or hate 'em, the Karan Johars of this world don't need Priyanka Chopra's forgiveness. It is possible that he has been asked by a mutual friend to fix things with her (my gossip-dar says that this is likely :p) or that he and PC genuinely feel bad for messing up their equation.
This is in no way a slight to PC. She is a very popular actor and has lots of fans, and she is definitely an A-lister. But she is not a power player. She has not carried a film on her shoulders in a while. Her box office record is very inconsistent. K. Jo doesn't need to go out of his way to court her favor.

People have to understand the reason why Karan is patching up with her is because the poor guy taught she was innocent and she never had an affair SRK, remember priyanka and SRK manage to fool their family and friends. They got everyone is circles. Poor Karan thinks he was attacking an innocent person...but Karan will soon realise he was right and Priyanka was not innocent. It's the same thing with Gauri, SRK tell her so much lies that Gauri taught they were just friends. If Gauri only knows how far her husband's relationship with Priyanka has gone. How about I am adding to my own comment, rather than replying, or is that too difficult for you to grasp? PC-SRK drama has been discussed to death on this forum and other forums, I have no desire to open that can of worms, cuz its not really that interesting. Its just enough to hint that the can of worm exists :-) Frankly, I am happy that PC came out of this whole thing with KJo unscathed(hopefully).
