Katrina gets the main lead while Ranbir opts out: Rajneeti sequel
Prakash Jha is planning a sequel for his blockbuster Rajneeti. This time around, Katrina will take center stage as the story will completely revolve around her character's rise and fall. However, Ranbir was apparently not too pleased to play second fiddle and opted out of the film. Prakash Jha confirmed the news to TOI, “It is very challenging to take the Raajneeti story forward. Most of the main characters are dead. Two-thirds of the characters will be completely new. Katrina will have a central role. And though Ranbir's character didn't die at the end of Rajneeti, he won't be part of Rajneeti 2. Again, I will be doing a spin on the Mahabharat, though this time, it will be completely different.” Wondering how Rajneeti will look without Ranbir? Will you still watch it with the Ranbir-Katrina chemistry amiss?

i will not miss ranbir-kat jodi.. ranbir now days is too arogent.. he will fall with his ghamand one day..
i think its the time fot katrina to prove what talent she has..i will b surely her challeng to pull a film in her shoulder..

Raajneeti 2 is going to do that well, because Ranbir is not in it. Ranbir is the best actor ever. How can you say he is average. Come on now, and you guys say Raajneeti worked only because of Katrina. Thats not at all true, the movie worked because of Ranbir. No actor could ever play the role he did in Raajneeti. Ranbir is the best. I love Ranbir soooooo much! Please stop criticizing Ranbir god. Enough is Enough!
rajneeti 2 will prove that katrina and others are what makes people come to theatres, not ranbir.

Any star cast movie does average business eventually even though it is declared flop first week through satellite rights, dvds, and others.
Rajneeti worked only because of Katrina and then nana patel,ajay devgan,manoj bajpai.
The role ranbir did could have been done by anyone.
Ranbir is an average actor. He is better than imran khan who cant act. His rockstar acting was very overated just like hrithik in agneepath.
Average actors can never be great actors like nana patel, manoj bajpai. Mark my words.

ur word is fit for u. Yes Ranbir is the soul reason to make Rajniti a blockbuster. Saawariya his 1st movie made in a experimental way with a high cost. Rocket singh earn more than its budget but sold on a high price and minimal promotion made it flop. Anjana Anjani wasn't disaster. It was above average.
omg, is this true? For me Katrina was one of the only good things about Rajneeti. A whole movie about her character would be awesome.
Just blind hatred, hatred and some more hatred.You may not want to believe it but this "bimbette" has a virtue which very few people have i.e. 'Determination and Patience'. She was chubby, she slimmed up; She couldnt dance, she got it; she couldnt speak the language she learnt it; it took her 23 days to dub for Rajneeti because of Shudh Hindi aka Sanskrit words, she did not give up & nailed it. This girl works 18 hrs a day. I personally think she is going to nail this one too.
Secondly, its the Director who makes or breaks a movie and Jha is a very talented individual, he can bring the best out anybody. If Rongbir was the sole reason of the movie being hit, why did Sanwariya failed miserably, why Rocket Singh failed, why was Anjana Anjaani such a big disaster, why Wake Up Sid sank like a stone? Just 2 of his movies have ever made is big at the Box Office i.e. Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani & Rockstar that too were the efforts of Raj Kumar Santoshi and Imtiaz Ali respectively. (Rajneeti doesnt count as Rongbir or Katrina's as there were so many others like Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpai, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal etc.) Director IS the captain of the ship.
first of all.... i hate rajneeti, second, i've never seen the movie, third, i will not watch it with ranbir-katrina, fourth, i will NEVER EVER WATCH IT WITH ONE AND ONLY KATRINA !, fifth, i will not watch this movie at all.... :)

Prakash is a gud directer but who cares ? Saif, Ajay and Amitabh couldn't give him hit like Rajniti. That movie was hi only becoz of Ranbir.

thats why Kat attended his book launch..something promising was waiting ahead for her..still, I will wait and see how Katrina handles the serious solo role..she sure won't stop until they give her a national award

This is going to be a suicide project. Giving Katrina so much of screen space. She can't deliver dialogues and act and no Ranbir. Is there anything to look forward too.

nooo ranbir should be in it! i liked him and kat in the first one. he's started acting pricey since 'rockstar'.
Ranbir is not a reason to watch the first one, so I think it will become a good movie. Sadly Arjun died in the first part. But he´s the hero in Prakash Jhas next so it´s okay.

ranbir and katrina are together, kat also opted out of rockstar due to ranbir's central role,they should do a movie which is only based on them .kat left yeh jawani hai deewani also b'coz there was one more pair also. will miss ran kat jodi in rajneeti's sequel .love them.

Sounds interesting! Better off without Ranbir, his character won't have much to offer in the sequel. This would truly be her chance to act... good luck to her!
