Life of which Bollywood star would you love to see on celluloid ?
I have often been intrigued by the life of some of the Bollywood ladies. Their life often has been an enigma for the fans and more often than not has been filled with a lot of turmoil and tumultuous times. This makes me want to see their life on celluloid. Not only will there be an emotional connect with the story, it also will bring to life some of the untold facets and stories. I am sure the family of the star will object to making a movie on their life, for reasons obvious. The best we can do is discuss on which star's life has most intrigued you and you would love to see it on the big screen. Better than a remake any day! What say? So here goes my list: 1) Madhubala: Born as Mumtaz Jahan Begum Dehla entered the industry at a very young age of 9. Often said to be the most beautiful lady to have ever graced the Indian cinema, her career, her marriage to Kishore Kumar, rumored affair with Dilip Kumar and her illness have all been matters often discussed by Bollywood enthusiasts. 2) Nargis: Born into the tawaif tradition of Calcutta, Nargis went on to become one of the most successful actors of Bollywood. Her movies with Raj Kapoor (and the rumors of the affair between the two), marriage to Sunil Dutt, her charitable work and her untimely death have been often discussed. 3) Smita Patil: Started her career as a television newscaster for Doordarshan. She went on to become one of the most iconic actresses of our times. When she became romantically involved with actor Raj Babbar, Patil drew severe criticism from her fans and the media, clouding her personal life and throwing her into the eye of a media storm. Raj Babbar left his wife Nadira Babbar to marry Patil. Overnight, Patil was labeled a "home-breaker" by the very feminist organizations she had worked so assiduously for and became the target of barbed criticism 4) Divya Bharti: The beautiful Divya made her mark in Bollywood with performances in Deewana, Shola Aur Shabnam. Around midnight of 5 April 1993, Bharti fell to her death from a five-storey Versova apartment building in Mumbai. There was much speculation by the media regarding Bharti's sudden demise, including the possibility of accidental death, suicide or even murder. Bharti's dress designer Neeta Lulla is believed to have been at the apartment some time before her death. Police closed the investigation in 1998, but the circumstances of her death still remain a mystery. 5) Meena Kumari: Meena Kumari is definitely one of the best actresses of Bollywood. Her role is Pakeezah is considered one of the best performances ever by a Bollywood leading lady. 6) Anu Agarwal : Read up on her life here 7) Mona Kapoor: These two posts are reasons enough. FSJ and DNA Whose life would you love to see on celluloid?

Meena Kumari is better than Madhubala Million times. I have seen ALL the movies of both actresses. Madhbala is not a match to Meena that is for sure.
Why Meena Kumari and not others?? Because her life is so eventful that can be made into a terrific movie.
Main highlights:
1- Her shot to fame to A list stars
2- Unsuccessful marriages
3- Many wouldn't know about her accident in the sets and how her finger got cut, yet she was excellent in hiding the injury in her films.
4- Her Alcohol addiction
5- Obsession to younger males specially heroes. Dharmendra was one of them
6- Many didnt even know that she tried to change her religion just to get married.
7- Her death while Pakeezah showing in the cinemas.
These were few highlights of a life full of action. but the problem who will play Meena???
DIVYA BHARTI !! she was not just beautiful looking, she was an amazing actress !!but sad we couldn't see much of her because of her death but if she was alive she would have been a big star, she would of been side to side with sridevi and madhuri dixit that's how big she would have been !!
Actually..I think we should make a WHOLE movie of at least 2-3 hours...featuring all of these actresses's stories :P
Oh yeah...REKHA!

karisma kapoor is better then madhubala:)
------------------------------
This is an insult to a great talent like Madhubala
madhubala, meena kumari, nargis, rekha, vyjaynthimala..... i'd just love to know about the lives of these older heroines!
mona kapoor is not a star....n she is in light for personal reasons....one will find thousands like her....for me its madhu bala n smita patil....
Anu Agarwal....
her movie will be about willpower. life.death...........
madhubala was etherreal bt zero in acting...pithaaaajiiiiii
smita patil madhubala and nargis !!!
smita patil has a sad story !! rekha would be also very nicee !! :)
some one below said that madhubala was overrated..how?? have you seen any of
her movies...by the way it is your opinion and i respect that but i recently saw pakeezah
and i am sorry i was bored to death. the woman was very pretty but it is nothing
in comparison to madhubala in Mughle-e-azam..that movie is epic and nothing can be
compared to madhubala's acting and beauty in it...
Smita Patil, Madhubala and Nargis...
but who would be able to pull those roles off really??? in todays time? No one is as elegant and full of grace as they were... Mostly girls are willing to just do a body show to become famous over night now a days...
Meena Kumari
Only one real, natural beauty, she is eternal beauty, mesmerizing, great, phenomenal, exceptional, the one the only Divya Bharti. As a matter of fact a biopic is going to be on floors this year in july most probably by Director Vikram Sandhu...
Great post!:)
I think you should also include Reena Roy :) there are rumors going around that Sonakshi is her daughter....they look alike...
anyways..I would say Divya Bharti :)
They should also make a story of Mona Kapoor and Sridevi..
Meena Kumari for sure!
agree with the person who said meena kumaris life was like a masala movie, sad but true....her life was filled with alcohol, many affairs, unsuccess marriage, unhealthy life style etc, and then sadly died at the age of 40.....very sad
I would definitely like to see Anu Agarwal. It's not her popularity or rise to fame. It's just that she suddenly disappeared and I am sure a lot of people don't know her story.

MONA KAPOOR
Aishwarya!
Come on. There's just so much there I want to know
Smita Patil & Divya
Madhubala
karisma kapoor is better then madhubala:)
Divya Bharti to start with, as her death was most horrid. She was young and bright.
Smita patil, Madhubala and meena kumari.
meena kumari deffo .... her life was involved with alcohol, many affairs and a unsuccessful marriage...very sad
MEENA KUMARI
Because her life is full of sorrow and sad events that can be made in a movie. others have some major things going on but none like Meena. Though there is one problem that there is no one who can match her to play her.
As a reply for one of the bad comments that Meena wasnt good in Pakeezah, I would say go and WATCH the movie because sure you havent seen it. IT IS ONE OF the greatest roles in Bollywood and perhaps the best ever done by both female and male as well.
Madhubala is an overrated in both terms acting and beauty. She is beautiful yes but most beautiful!!! Heck no.. Good actress yes.. Best?? no way. I would rate Meena Kumari as a more and more better actress than Madhubala. And I see Meena Kumari prettier than Madhubala. Just go and see Chalte Chalte from Pakeezah or Toda Mann Darpan from Kaajal where she is the moon sitting on earth. Madhubala never looked more beautiful than her.
Mona Kapoor was never an actress! she only owns 2 studios in mumbai.
karisma kapoor
i feel mona kapoor's will be inspiring and spirirtual while Madhubala, nargis, anu and meena kumari's can be tragic and depressing
Madhubala
