Here are some excerpts taken from a recent Madhuri interview taken from Page 7 Magazine.
Don't you feel that there has been a great void in Bollywood after the exit of actresses like Karishma, Kajol and Sridevi and of course yourself?
Well I have never thought about it in that way. There comes a time when I decided I had done all that I could have in films and I should get married and raise a family now. But yes, maybe people felt bad. But now with powerhouse actresses like Rani, Priyanka, Vidya and others I don't feel that there is a void. I have admired Rani for her work, she is my favourite actress. And after watching 'Ishqiya' I must say I was floored with Vidya Balans performance. Priyanka is young and has a long way to go
From amongst all the co-stars, who was/is your favourite?
You want me to say it, and then everyone will start saying "Madhuri has said his name, she doesn't like the others". I will tell you one thing, I got along with everybody, and there was never a problem with any of my co-stars. I would take a name of the person with whom I have worked in a lot of films and who has always been a very dear friend of mine - Shahrukh Khan. We share a great liking for each other which is completley mutual and there is a lot of respect in our relationship.
Have you signed any new film?
Right now I haven't signed anything. But it is so sweet to know that my fans would still like to see me in a film
And, what about Ishqiya 2 with Sanjya Dutt?
These are just speculations. Nothing of that sort has been finalised.

Aaja Nachle is A BAD film and a BAD choice to comeback too. For god's sake Madhuri can't you act? We are fed up of you showcasing your dances. Start acting otherwise do nothing.

Madhuri accept Aaja Nachle for the sake of Yash Chopra because of Yash Chopra personally came and met her in Denver.
priyanka is the best
madhuri is potentially talented in acting when given the right direction and script but she always, always made the wrong film choice..... always going for the typical stereotypical heroine role with no scope whatsoever, yes, a few of her films like lajja devdas mrityudand etc were good, but even there i never saw her break out of the "madhuri" mould.... it's like she's the same person in every film, i can never see the character she's playing, i should be able to see it clearly and trace the character's strengths weaknesses, motivations etc.... when it comes to dance, she's untouchable, but again, she never really danced as the character, just as madhuri dixit... sridevi on the other hand, whilst not as technically good as madhuri, always danced as the character

Well so were Kajol, Juhi, Karisma, and Sri in the 90s, and all can still take their acting to another level even now, with their talent, looks, fitness and desire to succeed. They are not living and want to cash with their status in the 90s.
Aaja nachle is not a bad film actually...certainly better than bodyguard and ready were.
And i agree with madhuris choices. And to the person who thinks Kareena can act, I seriously don't think you can see past her white skin because she is a terrible actress.

Hmm..does Madhuri have a grudge against Kareena? it seems she is consciously naming priyanka and leaving kareena behind..maybe karishma pissed her off during Dil to Pagal hai..
Madhuri is a very limited actress herself. Never saw her do roles stepping out of her comfort zone. Was actually her fan in the 90's. But she fell quite short of my expectations.
I still believe that Juhi Chawla was a much better actress than MD, she just wasn't that competitive and not that hungry for the limelight! Even until now,she is quietly and surely doing meaningful and good cinema without shouting it from the rooftops! That is how she is! Love Juhi for her character, talent and personality! And that killer smile!
Couldn't agree more, MD! Rani, Vidya and PC are the best actresses in bollywood right now!
She used to love the lights even at her prime... compared to Juhi and Sridevi.. She used to give the most amount of interviews to film magazines... even when she didn't have a release or anything going to talk about. Juhi Chawla used to be moderate in her interviews. Sridevi's interviews were RARE.... You would buy a cover with Sridevi on it but when you look inside the magazine you will find its not an interview but an article talking about her.
So Madhuri has always been the same and she will remain the same. She should change that now because people think she is desperate.

Kareena is a fab actress but just because she didn't mention it doesnt mean she isn't great.
Anon please wake up.... Madhuri is no Maryl Streep. and again Meryl Streep does roles that suite her age. Madhuri did Aaja Nachale instead.
i love bebo..she is a terrific actress but if madhuri likes rani and priyanka more then she is very entitled to her opinion.

Madhuri was my inspiration while growing up. Her movies & dances were so amazing!!! It's sad to see her now. It's very obvious that no one want's to approach her for a film. She's getting a big too old to play the plastic roles. It just goes to show how shallow Bollywood really is. Once you no longer can walk around in skimpy clothes, being the "love interest", your career ends. Pathetic! Indian cinema is so hell bent on copying the west in everything, why don't they copy the respect that good actresses in Hollywood get, like Meryl Streep?
I wish though that Madhuri would stop marketing herself so much by doing all these nonsense tv shows, advertisements, and being at every other program/event. It makes her seem extremely desperate. And, if anyone knows, can someone tell me WHY she left her amazing life in America to go back to India so randomly???? I thought her husband an American born, well-off doctor? Why on earth would he want to go back to India????
Mashuri when saysnshe likes someone its not a honest opinion. She talked good about who talk good about her. She said SRK is her fav and not Anil Kapoor bec she thinks that SRK may think and cast her opposite him!!!!
Of course she has no movies....No one wants to make another Aaja Nachle....lol
So the rumors are true that no one in Bollywood is ready to touch her with a barge pole. Guess she must be jealous of Sridevi coming back in such a fabulous film.

I never did regard Madhuri as a powerhouse talent. Rani and Vidya beat her by miles when it comes to acting. Of course dance, Mads tops but acting. its Rani and Vidya.
