Mughal-Themed Reception For Saifeena In New Delhi
After the wedding and private party in Mumbai, attention has shifted to Saif and Kareena's public reception in New Delhi. This event is expected to be attended by the elites of this eminent city. The guest list consists of 500-600 guests with political and Bollywood bigwigs expected to attend the event. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, BJP leader Arun Jaitley, former cricketers Kapil Dev and other eminent personalities have been invited by Sharmila Tagore for the Dawat-e-Walima. Special attention is being given to the decorations. Zee News reports that Sharmila has chosen a grand-Mughal theme for the reception to be held in a spacious government bungalow. The event management company in charge of this event has brought in two-centuries old antique props for the authentic Mughal look. The reception is set to commence at 8 PM and elaborate security arrangement have been made to deter gatecrashers. Kareena is expected to sport a pink gharara or a pink-blue or green sari designed by her favourite Manish Malhotra while Saif is expected to wear a Raghavendra Rathore creation.

Kareena did not convert unlike her mother-in-law, Sharmila who also announced her conversion. Times have changed and interfaith marriages have become more common worldwide. The trend's grown in India as well, esp. in the big cities. Saif has stated many times that he doesn't think that conversion is a necessary measure to get married and would not ask Kareena to do so. Saif himself is very minimal in terms of religion, if at all so I don't think they are trying to cover up anything. Yes, they weren't open the wedding but this article too has been titled wrongly. They have called it a Walima which was written on the invitation cards and the fact of the matter is that the Walima will have a Mogul theme. Many people have wedding themes and this couple are just trying to have their own. It's the article that states it wrongly, not the couple!
anonymous@Thu, 2012-10-18 08:58 - I also used to think these big weddings and receptions are a waste of money, however, they are actually helping the economic cycle churn. These events employ so many people and pay so many companies. If it doesn't come across as a gaudy display of riches, I tend to see these events as a good thing for all those small companies and servers, decorators, etc etc. My 2 cents :-)

why would they cover it up? what is their motivation? people are expecting her to convert and people are angry that she is not. so why would they cover up? sharmila converted and she didn't hide it!

Yeah right. Hahaha its a walima which is a after party after the nikaah.. They just say mughul teamed to cover up the conversion
