No Kareena Kapoor-Khan? Kareena To Be Credited As Kareena Kapoor In Talaash
Kareena's marriage has been in the news for quite some time now. The couple have exchanged vows and the two receptions, one private and one public, too have ended but public's curiosity for new tit-bits about Kareena's marriage shows no sign of stopping. It is age-old tradition in India that the bride will give up her father's surname and take up her husband's surname after her marriage. More and more girls are ignoring this tradition and use both the surnames instead of preferring one over the other. Kareena seems to have gone a step ahead and will be credited as just Kareena Kapoor in the credits of upcoming release Talaash. Quite many fans were looking forward to seeing the words 'Kareena Kapoor-Khan' in the credits of Talaash, the first movie to be released after Kareena and Saif's marriage. However, Director Reema Kagti clarified that Kareena wanted her old name to continue and that was the reason why the 'Kapoor-Khan' surname will not be seen on the big screen. Wonder how long fans have to wait before viewing the two most powerful surnames in Bollywood in a single name on the silver screen.

Are you an idiot!? Saif Ali Khan's last name is Khan .... Pataudi is a town and the reason they attach it to their names is because ONCE they were nawaabs of the town called Pataudi and so it belongs to them, it's a family title, his fathers name was Mansoor Ali Khan. Khan is his last name he is a Pashtun. Sajid is his born name so Saif might be his nick name or even screen name but his real name is Khan. Pataudi is not a name, it's a title. I can't believe someone just said this, this is the funniest comment ever. Sorry in advance.

srk is still ruling in the country where 80 %population is hindu even though he married a hindu girl...even though she is called gauri khan srk did not convert her and people respect him for that....whereas saifkareena by hiding their conversion have pissed off people....no matter how much they deny....

Well, in Islam the non-Islamic girls entire name is changed. Sharmila's name is legally Ayesha Sultana since she got married. Since she was famous with her Sharmila name she just gets called like that.

I'm liking most of the responses in this thread so far. I agree, why should the woman have to give up her identity? If anything, why shouldn't she keep her name and the children get the mother's name or both surnames.

Are you sure you don't mean it the other way around? Almost all married muslims girls I know have their taken husband's last name.

Your husband doesnt own you, your not his friggin property because all youve done is take vows with them like a nikaah or saat phere, when u die your body belongs to your mum and dad who created you and made you after the Will of Allah.
