Preity Zinta Defends Hiding Her Face At The Airport
So, we all saw the pictures of Preity Zinta trying very hard to hide her face whilst the photogs tried THEIR hardest to get a picture of her face. Preity has clarified and explained the reasons behind this, on Twitter. "Sitting at home with a twisted ankle post the airport assault by photographers. First I shoot all night & get on the plane n then get pushed n jumped on at the airport. It was raining so I slipped. Wasn't hiding my face was trying 2 recover frmthe shock of 40 camera flashes If photographers ask me politely I will oblige buy next time I will either attack some1 or then file a police complaint cuz THIS IS NOT FAIR am a human being not some animal in the ZOO ! If my security would have pushed them then news would report my staff assaulted the media ! And yes in the end I was pissed off so then I definitely didn't want 2 show my face. Last time my car was scratched n the side mirror broke Thank god shooting for Ishkq in Paris is over otherwise I'd be hopping around with a twisted ankle. Now in meetings all day... Telling u all this cuz all of u asking why I was hiding my face. Every story has 2 sides so here is my side of the story ... Grrrrrrrrr ! The rant was followed by this picture:

I have been working in the media long enough and I know that the media people don't have a dream about the stars arriving at the airport. Someone from their PR firm always calls one or two channels and that's how the word spreads around. In the past some actresses even waited inside the airport because the media hadn't arrived and they wanted to be snapped. They like to pretend they are like Angelina Jolie, getting attacked by the papparazi. So whatever Ms. Zinta is saying over here is total BS.

I don't agree with comments that the Indian media are stupid or crazy. The paparazzi are more vicious in other parts of the world, I think Bollywood stars have it easier, they very rarely have controversial pics taken of them a la Kirsten Stewart. Seems to me as though Ms Z had something to hide. Celebs should be prepared for such attention, its what makes them celebs! anyway a previous article stated that the media was waiting for Ashton Kutcher, not the super super star Ms Z!

secondly we have seen so many A Lister stars on airport be it like SRK, Kareena ,Hrithik if they don t wanna
talk to media they just walk or pass by unlike you not looking in stable condition and hiding face
so stop making up stories and giving your justifications if your are honest let the time decide

i think as soon as she tried to hide from the paps, they thought she had something to hide (ie botoxed face or something) and hounded her more. having said that, i highly doubt 40 photographers would be after PZ at the airport.
It is common knowledge to the public that paps sit outside the airport waiting for celebs. they've been doing this for a while now. so why is it news to her?
i think she's upset with the media not portraying her the way she wants but instead highlights that she an aging actress trying desparately to hold on to her acting and so didn't want to give them any free shots.
Anyone who has been on her twitter knows that she very viciously tries to protect her words/images from the media. I think she has personal issues with the media.
Also, if so many photographers were after her wouldn't there be a picture/video of her being 'assaulted' or falling over enough to hurt her ankle that badly? wouldn't she be charging some one? (and given how law suit friendly she is, it seems likely)
I knew it was terrible the way the photogs were all over her. Had made me feel suffocated just looking at that and made me feel really sorry for her that she didn't have her own space to even walk from plane to car in peace. She is a human being with a certain tolerance level just like all of us. People need to relax. No wonder stars resort to burkhas. A star isn't open to meet and greet at ALL times. That's not hard to understand.
PZ please learn how to deal with the media from Shilpa Shetty. She always respects them n vice versa. Not like u idiot. Blasting them left right n center n writing a book on them n expecting them to treat u like royalty . They should have kicked her in the butt!!!

why is she acting like this is the first time a celebrity has experienced this? she has been in the industry for 15 years.

LOL....Preity is definitely HUNGRY for media attention and promoting her soon to be super disaster film. You already had your time where people/media want to know about you. Now, we only wish for you to "GO AWAY FROM BW ASAP"!
It does look like the paps were hounding her in this case. If the stars' PR have to alert the press to get their pictures taken, then how do you explain SRK, Kareena, Saif etc frequently getting photographed at the airport? No one seems to complain then that they called the paps.
Preity generally does not like to be photographed when she is without make up and super dressed down. Its her choice. However, her trying to defend herself on this minor issue, I think its unnecessary. Preity, people who are reasonable enough understand what could be the reason or the possibilities behind hiding from photogs. People who are unreasonable and just want to verbally attack someone because its online and they can get away with it, will always do that.
Cheer up. Sorry about your ankle and get well.
P.S. Fire the stylist from Ishq in Paris and take out those awful veneers.
P.P.S. If possible, take up a show like Amir's Satya Meva Jayate. With your courage and personality, you would do well handing women centric political issues rather than interviewing actors with whom you have done movies.
Just few thoughts from a well wisher who admires strong, independent women like you.

amitabh bacchhan , aishwarya , the khans etc and bigger celebrities walk in and out of the airport without any issues and this woman comes fully dressed to promote her ipl team and movie... such a fake woman....had her pr alert the paparazzi that she is coming so that she gets adequately photographed...wears the t-shirt to promote her ipl team and her soon to be released movie because she KNOWS she is going to be photographed and then pretends she doesn't like it by hiding her face....normally she could slip in and out of the country, no one could care less...wish she would keep the acting to the movies...fake and self-centered celebrities..phew we've had enough...now that everybody sees right through her little pr scheme...she wants the sympathy vote...i say if you cover your face you can't see where you are going and hence will slip and sprain your ankle and what not, don't blame the rain...dumb celebrities..grrrrr!"

I never bought into that bubbly persona! Pretty has always been as hard as nails, from who to make friends and network with. Preity you are celebrity, you need the media to keep you in the lime-light now that your fame is in decline!
Did she say forty camera flashes? Now how can so many press have been there without prior knowledge? Always see Priyanka at the airport and other more recently famous actors/actresses, none of them were seen mobbed like you were. Guess you are more desirable to the media than them. In any case a simple flash of your "ting, ting dimples" would have satisfied them as well you know but of course it would not have created the drama that your refusal created! Forty cameras don't come out of nowhere!
If you're a celebrity, the WORST thing you can do is complain about the paparazzi. Quit complaining about how everyone wants a picture of you when the same fame is what makes you a celebrity. The biggest shock to me though is that she would tweet a picture of her foot. Her big toe is seriously deformed. GROSS!

Whats with arguing about her hiding her face. If she did she has a right to do so. She could be having one of those horrible days and was not prepared to face the paparazzi's flashes. Thats why some celebrities have a hug number of security staffs around them. Forget the crazy fans and the actual papz, even your average journo's seem to be acting just as crazy and harass celebrities.
And btw about the person talking about her contradicting herself. She is not. She came out of the airport, was assaulted, ended up with an angle injury and after that reacted by hiding her face from the flashes and got into her car as soon as she could. It makes sense to me. She should be left alone. Btw, Ms Rai-Bachchan, who has a shortage of female friends and counted PZ numerous times in Interview as being her friend, where is she now? Talking about supporting a friend in need.....
