Is SRK tarnishing his image while Salman is adorning his?
I love both Salman and SRK and I look forward to their movies more than any other actor's. I love Aamir as well, however for the sake of this post, I'm keeping him out of this. We all know the bitterness between these two stars and that they are constantly pitted against each other. For a while now, SRK has been all over the place due to his upcoming film Ra.One. I mean, the man is literally everywhere! But, his character is questioned, especially his fidelity. I for one, would not like to believe that he is cheating on Gauri; but the media and some of my fellow Pinkvillans think otherwise. Then we have Salman Khan who is the current box-office king. He has one of the biggest fan following in India. He hasn't been in trouble with the law for a while now (thank GOD!). To top it off, he's involved in charity through his organization, Being Human. And he's making plenty of films with a variety of directors who swear by his name. In other words, Salman equals guaranteed $$$ for producers and distributors. My questions are: Why can't both be at the top at the same time? And more importantly, do you guys think SRK is really tarnishing his image, while Salman works to clean up his? *NOTE* Please try not to bring in other actors/actresses' names. Stick to the topic!

Yes, SRK is tarnishing his image with the link up which apparently is true. I got the inside scoop so it seem to be true he is with PC. His lovely wife cannot do anything about it because no one can really question SRK.
Salman on the other hand seems to be very focused and his public image has certainly improved.
Just have to say, I am a Salman Khan fan from day one so regardless if his image is good or bad i am a die hard fan. My last sentence has nothing to do with the topic but i could not help adding it :)

either way, i hope someone, be it amir or srk or salman or anyone really, makes an interesting film soon.
Why should the MEDIA stop? They are doing their job by keeping the public up to date with the doings of people who are of intense public interest. The people who should STOP are the principals in this little farce. PC, but she can't be expected to really since she's much younger and has been star struck with SRK for years, so that leaves it up to the ADULT, the MATURE MARRIED MAN to take responsibiltiy. He's Priyanka's senior in both life and in the industry as well as in his life experience. HE is the one who needs to put a stop to this. HE is the one everyone is fascinated by and watching. By this time in his career he surely knows that whomever he is seen with and wherever he goes he will incite fascination, curiosity and comment.
His name sells in all forms of media, so it's up to him.

I agree with your pov. No actor would deliberately undo all his hard work and tarnish his own image. But Srk is not doing anything to Stop it either other than state he has no friends and they are all friends in a group. But what discredits his claim is he is NOT seen in the company of his other friends in public as much as he hangs out with a PC. She comes across as his mega ego rub all giddy and bubbly thus it creates rumors for a man with a million plus such fans swooning over him to be so taken in by such tactics from a costar...understandable for a failure of an actor to latch on to that one solitary fan like no tomorrow to keep happy. But the friendship has spilled over his work and stained it, to question and ridicule his credibility and integrity towards it. Can't blame the media for assuming she is not a Platonic friend like the other boys and girls. And it is sad they are not buying the just friends anymore rather implying he is buying a friendship with PC. If he hadn't gone out of his way to make her a part of his Dream Project where the other candidates are AB and a Rajnikanth and not the entire OSO cameos, no one would associate a Srk-pc rumor during a Raone release and he wouldn't be dealing with the bad press at this time when he needs total support from all quarters. I am upset at the rumors. I believe Raone deserves BETTER for it is a path breaking movie a first of its kind that should not be tainted with petty rumors. I wish it the very best and more. I believe it is very UNFAIR to tarnish Srk's hard earned image and reputation over an ambitious actress. Media needs to stop.
i am a srk fan. however i must say being a rational person i would agree that salman has DEFINITLY increased his fan list while srk has DISAPPOINTED a lot of fans by his latest choice of roles.... :(
i just hope that SRK realises it soon and does some EXCELLENT WORRK soon.
And seeing SALMAN these days is sure a TREAT.....

Green, calm down....if u post stuff here u will get a lot of backlash from everyone...it's the trend in this website...i think srk is not really tarnishing his image.....it think the rumors continue to make rounds becoz of pc.....the way she gushes about srk.....i mean the kwk episode where she was blushing by the mere mention of his name was kinda weird........to top it off srk and pc were getting wayyyy too close in that dance show...pc w/ her high cut dress and srk whispering in her ear while she continues to giggle........srk is not cheating on his wife becoz he loves her to death.....but if he knows about these rumors, why would he continue to flirt w/ pc...........i think he should stop for the sake of his reputation...he's already getting bad report from media...rajeev masand even wrote something about it.......though i tend not to believe him...but other ppl do....salman is just being safe in my opinion....after wanted he knows what works for him and he uses it to his advantage that's all

And if you still need me to spoon-feed you, here I go: the title of the discussion topic is clearly stated as "IS SRK TARNISHING HIS IMAGE WHILE SALMAN IS ADORNING HIS?" Hint 1: There is a question mark next to the question, therefore, I am ASKING you all DO YOU THINK so about such and such. As a result of this question asked by me to you, you can discuss whether you THINK that SRK is tarnishing his image, and if Salman is cleaning his up. Simple! If I was voicing my judgments, this wouldn't be a discussion forum. And this is not journalism; it's not a newspaper; it's not a magazine; it's not even a PR strategy...this is a PUBLIC FORUM.

I am neither fan of SRK nor Salman Khan and on their personal lives I dont care how they go about it as they are also human like all of us. But as an actor I would rather watch Salman any day than SRK. My problem is I expect to see changes in roles and performance, SRK is always the same I mean srk is not versatile at all but I understand that actors that dont take risk makes it bigger than those with variaties of roles plus those actors that are media friendly in bollywood

Umm.. I've only been on this site for a few months and you know that I was never an SRK fan? Wow..
I'm not really a Salman Khan fan, to be honest. I just like that he is doing well.. I tend to feel happy for people when they are in a good place in their life (even when I don't adore them or anything). I don't really like him a lot offscreen (the whole Aish thing, drunken rowdiness, running over people, hunting rare animals, etc). As for onscreen, there are very few Salman Khan movies that I actually like. After I watched Bodyguard, I regretted those past two hours of my life. LOL.
As for SRK I actually use to be a HUGE fan but in the past two years I've slowly lost interest in him. It's a combination of not really seeing any releases from him but then all of the sudden when he is finally back in the public eye again- it's a bit too much. It's kind of like when you really like a song but when they start playing it on the radio non-stop you get tired of it and don't like it as much anymore. :P Also, his recent overexposure is more for the "affair" rumor rather than Ra.One which is annoying for me to listen and read about.

Salman is not a self-made guy only. His father was one half of the famous movie script writers - Salim-Javed. Many of the movies that they wrote became super-duper hits. One of them was Sholay. They might have charged even more than the main lead per movie in their peak.

First of all, SRK is not cheating on Gauri, and if you want to believe what the media says and what pinkvillans "notice" in his behaviour then the purpose is lost.
Salman does charity work...so what??? Just because he blows his own trumpet to sow what a "good man" he is doesnt mean others dont do charity. SRK for one, has been associated with a lot of charity work....be it lighting up villages, running slums in dharavi, adopting kashmiri refugee kids, establishing a cancer ward in a reputed hospital in Mumbai. The difference is, (and i would like to name the Bachchans and Kapoors here as well) , salman literally hammers it in ur head that he DOES charity, while the others DO it in a quite manner. Its for self satisfaction and not for publicity.
and about BO position...thats just such a temporary thing. today salman is on top, after being in the industry for over a decade (SRK held the top position for the maximum period in his career), tomorrow someone else will be.
SRK is a self made man, extremely dedicated and hard working. And the place he has carved for himself in the industry cannot be taken away by anyone EVER!!

we should all judge an actor based on his work..lets wait for the release of 'RA.ONE' then we will see..I was skeptical about 'Enthiran' too, but when I saw it that was something else...As far as Salman goes, he's remaking hit films from the South so there's nothing original there..except for Dabangg..

I agree that the tables have turned. I have lost any type of "fan-love" I had for SRK.. even if you know that you don't know the truth about a rumor, sometimes hearing someone being associated with something over and over again (PC thing, for example) you get a bit weary and lose interest in that celeb. It's almost as if they become tarnished in your mind, but it all happens so subconsciously because I am not a firm believer of the PC-SRK affair thing but their are enough things to make me think that it is entirely possible.
As for Salman, I like seeing Salman working hard and helping out his family with these blockbuster movies and doing well.
