shahid aint powerful enough to choose his own directors like srk,salman,amir
farhan akhtar and shahid would be a good combination but why would farhan take a risk especially if he thinks he is more charming and better actor than shahid? LOL
I saw the movie and I have to say it was disappointing because I expected more! It felt like the potential was there but it was wasted. Movie was OK but not great. I really liked the 1960 part a lot and wished they could have expanded it more. The 1920 part was nice in parts but felt rushed at the end. The 2012 part was for me the weakest part of the film, and it took up too much time. Plus that part was trying too hard to be cool and it just wasn't at all. I wished the 1960's part was made into the full movie, it was really well done, the special effects were really well done and the characters were really cute. Prachi was good, I would have liked to see more of her character! But they should have really not shown PC's navel ring in the retro part, and I'm pretty sure Shahid's waxed chest was not normal in those days either! Ah well, it was an OK watch if you don't go in with any expectations.

The money had already been spent by then, and I can certainly afford movie tickets anyway so it's not a problem! And besides I don't put a lot of importance on a handful of Anonymous comments on PV (when they probably hadn't even seen the movie). Even movies like Ready have strangely become hits so I form my own opinions thank you very much! :)

It was a well attempted movie with good acting and music but the concept of intertwining 3 stories is different.
I thought Shahid did justice to all the 3 characters and PC was good in parts!
Frankly, this movie was way better than Ready or Bodyguard which basically had no story at all! and simply ran on Salman's brawn power.

Agree. Kunal Kohli is always experimental with his films with Hum Tum being the best. He has experimented with this as well and you may not go back watch it over and over again but it's okay to watch it once.

It could be a great movie, if only the had a script, it almost looks like some ad shoot.
I didn't think it was THAT bad. Sure it wasn't a great movie but it's a one time watch and you're okay with that. I really liked there 2012 depiction. All the social media, bbm messages, etc. Our generation is truly like that. That was apt. I do agree that the 1960 portion where Shahid and Priyanka fall in love with each other is not convincing as it all seemed to happen too quickly.

Shahid should work with someone like Farhan akhtar or yash chopra. Nobody can deny that shahid is talented but he needs to find a better director.
It makes us laugh,bt doesn't touch the heart, its a bouring movie,like mausam.
Watched this movie, it was as bad as, i leave it b4 the end, from the starting it looks so boring, no thrill, no comedy sense, never expected this from kunal, and priyanka and so r shahid side, why they signed this kind of dump script, i recommend all of u ,dont spend ur money on this movie, it gives u only headache huhh
why is that when a film is hit the actors get all the appreciation and when it flops they blame the director. shahid has worked with many directors. he has flops with yash chopra banner as well. so is priyanka. she has hits with SRK, HR except for fashion which was a hit for not only priyanka but it was truely the director's effort and then kaminey which was again a very differently picturised film with good songs. priyanka will deliver a hit with HR in Krish i wonder what shahid will do next. he needs KARAN JOHAR so badly.

I'll wait for the DVD, no sense in paying $15 to go watch Priyanka Chopra imitate other actresses on the big screen.
I haven't seen it yet, but I can't believe it got all these bad reviews. Oh well I don't care what some OLD boring critics say. I will go see it and judge for myself.
I dont get how this movie is declared a superhit on wikipedia :s i mean its been just 2 days of the relsease and as far as the reviews are concerned, its more likley to be a flop :s

Strengths:
Shahid Kapoor - he was brilliant in every scene and era and made the best of the situation.
Priyanka Chopra - brilliant in flashes -- especially 1960. Good in 1910.
Prachi Desai - She was perfect in her cameo and one wished she had a bigger role
Dance - Uff, Humse and Allah Jaane
Overall concept
Weakness:
Script!!! 1960 portion needed more dialogs! The Charlie Chaplinisque style did not work for the desi folks. The train sequence was wasted. The development of the relationship between Sk and PC is not convincing in 1960.
Priyanka -- very weak, watered down performance in 2012. Neha Sharma showed more connection and chemistry with Shahid than PC
The horrible picturization of Mukhtsar -- what a beautiful song and a great opportunity to use SK's dancing talents wasted!! The choreographer should be ashamed.
directors bad....n so are the actors. it cant all be the directors fault. these two actors cant act...they were soo bad. they need acting lessons.
