Vidya In Dirty Picture Or Kareena In Heroine- Who Did A Better Job?
While the industry is agog with competition between Barfi! and Heroine, there is an even more interesting comparison between Kareena’s film and another heroine-centric movie released last year- The Dirty Picture. Heroine focuses on an aging superstar who is past her prime and struggling to recover. The Dirty Picture charted the rise of a small town girl who became a phenomenon and her subsequent fall from grace. Both movies focus on how cruel the industry is towards its actresses and this makes the comparison between Kareena’s and Vidya’s performance inevitable. There is no doubt that both have done a commendable job. The question is- who has done a better job at portraying the dark underbelly behind the shine and glamour? Kareena did a great job portraying Mahi’s mood swings, her arrogance & vulnerability, and her need to be loved. Vidya seemed as if she was relishing the naughty bits of her role and was very convincing. However, many feel she did not portray Silk’s downfall as well as she portrayed her rise. Who was better? Who is THE heroine to play a heroine on the screen? Can the two performances even be compared? Rarely do fans get an opportunity to compare two such movies that have been released so close to each other. So what is your opinion?

I am sorry but to pull off such an image of a top notch lady , for starters you have to look HOT " i can sense an everlasting debate on this issue but IT IS TRUE !!" kareena acting in heroine was much btr than vidya in the dp:))
I think Kareena did a better job in Heroine because I think Vidya was overrated in The Dirty Picture.
The script, however, was much better in TDP than Heroine. Heroine lacked script/good dialogue while TDP lacked the strength of an actress like Bebo.

Kareena kapoor is far better actress...Heroine is a mature film, despite being in this industry, she got the guts to portray the dark siDe of bollywood, which i think is true. No one else would have play the role of Mahi, Kareena has mixed the emotions in her character. This film is just a catalyst for her to embrace other vibrant roles, she is a complete stunner.:):):)

I feel that Kareena showcased a wider range of emotions in Heroine as oppose to Vidya in The Dirty Picture. I don't understand why ppl are calling it overacting on Kareena's part. In reality, there are ppl who have anxiety/panic attacks similar to Kareena's character. And she did have lighter moments in the movie as well.
On the other hand, if Vidya's role was done by a B or C list actress (struggling girls trying to make it in Bollywood) everyone would say that its a cheap movie with cheap acting. Although I loved Vidya in movies like Kahaani, Parineeta, its not like TDP was an extraordinary piece of work, that role could have been done by any struggling actress willing to expose excessively.

People who are commenting Kareena's role was tougher in heroine and hence she is better, dont understand the subtleness in acting. Vidya is not the best but she is miles ahead from kareena. and Vidya is intelligent so she makes right choices with script!

Kareenas role was more powerful and more layered then Vidyas in TDP she had to play a bipolar charcter and the way she acted with her eyes is outstanding! Like i Said the TDP had everthing good script good direction! But without all of that Kareena nailed it. The clear winner Is Kareena! NO doubt.

no comparison between the two - vidya played the role of a s*x symbol. kareena played the role of a so called A lister actress and exposed her and that actress could not do a thing except to pass negative word about the film but people loved it more. In Dirty Pic there was nothing to expose except the body, in Heroine they exposed a dirty mind and in that sense it was far superior and mature.
I think Kareena is the better actress but Vidya knows how to choose a good script. It seems like all Bebo cares about is the paycheck and not a good story and that's why she's given more flops than hits. Vidya is the lowest paid actress in Bollywood and takes chances with unusual movies and moviemakers.

Vb has changed d face of indian cinema ...wid tdp she has opend d gates 4 fmale centric movies....but she is nothing in comparison 2 kareena beauty , sexiness, fashion sense....

VIDYA ROlE IN TDP WAS 1 DIMENSIONAL WHERE KAREENA IN HEROINE WAS MULTI lAYERED & MUCH MORE COMPLEX.....KAREENA NAILED IT!!
Why 2 choose....i l say both .....both did justice to their roles...
