Will the Bhatt camp choose 'Star Hunt Audition' winners(as promised) or Emraan Hashmi for Aashiqui 2 ?
I am one of the auditioners for the Aashiqui 2 Online Star Hunt contest. I wanted to share my experience and thoughts on this matter given that the results of the online contest have not been announced and there is a story floating around that the Bhatt camp may have signed Emraan Hashmi for the lead of Aashiqui 2. The Bhatts (Vishesh Films) along with Mohit Suri (director) and Bhushan Kumar (producer) launched the Aashiqui 2 Global Star Hunt to hold online auditions to find fresh faces for the film Aashiqui 2. Around 1,300 audition videos were submitted (both actors and actresses) by hundreds of eager hopefuls from around the world. Now here's the sticky part: the deadline for submissions was May 7; May 8 was to be the date that they announced the Top 40 auditions-- the shortlist. However, it's May 15... and still nothing. Not a word from any of the team, including Mahesh Bhatt or T Series, apart from a message that the results will be released "shortly". Yesterday Zoom TV reported that the Bhatts will rope in Emraan Hashmi for the lead role in the film-- instead of the promised new face-- soon. It's been rumored on Twitter that the team is delaying the results long enough that they can claim they needed to simply take a well-known actor, as the date for the shoot is drawing closer. Hundreds of hopeful actors and actresses virtually signed legal contracts-- the Aashiqui 2 Global Star Hunt Terms and Conditions-- that clearly state that the winning pair among those who have auditioned through this method ( Aashiqui 2 ) will have the opportunity to play the lead roles in Aashiqui 2. So what gives?! These hundreds of disillusioned hopefuls are beginning to grumble, and rumors of a boycott of the film are swelling if the makers leave the contest without any results. I hope the Bhatts see the contest through, to allow us to vote among the Top 40, and to give a screen test in Mumbai to the Top 20, as promised.

2) Other pair will have cousin of Sonam Kapoor (male lead)
Lets see if it comes true. but yes, this delay is very unnecessary.

These people have hurt us a lot. I mean is it really necessary to publicise your upcoming movie by ruining dreams of thousands? I don't think they are going to announce any results. It's already been more than a week since the day the results were to be declared. What more? Why am I still waiting I don't know. Guys please stop advertising about your audition videos. It's frustrating now. It's over.
Someone should try sending the Bhatts or Mr. Suri a msg on twitter! Maybe people will get some answers
Ya Serena Saxena's not bad I saw it.. needs some polishing up though. I guess it all depends on what they're willing to do... they should email people they think are potentials and ask for portfolio or something.
silly ppl, did u actually believe them that they'd sign up a new face. I mean what r the chances of finding good talent out of 10k some ppl, most of whom have taken acting classes or some who may possess inane talent for acting. Emran has the talent of these 10k ppl plus some, so don't be disappointed that he is more talented than u.

1) Bhatts have signed new faces previously so there was very little reason to doubt their claim (which still has not been proven/disproven)
2) Emraan or anyone else as a matter of fact were new faces at SOME POINT IN THEIR LIFE with very little actings skills. However, he nurtured his talent well and went onto become "Emraan Hashmir" along with strategic film choices.

the hue and cry aren't because of Emraan Hashmi. People are upset because Vishesh Films announced that they are looking for new faces and A LOT of people auditioned for it, and I'm sure, went through a lot of rehearsals. People put in a lot of effort into making their audition videos. They feel betrayed.

India is a cesspool of corruption. It's only "who you know" that will get you ahead in India, not talent, skill, or meritocracy.
seen the auditions on youtube and they all sucked!!! i wouldnt be surprised if they go with Emraan instead and i dont blame them!
One of my friends who auditioned for it said it's rigged. I guess we'll find out shortly. I've seen a number of auditions on their youtube channel myself and a few of them come across pretty well. Of course, they are not the perfect actors/actresses yet but that can be worked upon. They are doable and throughout the course of the shooting, the filmmakers can always enhance their acting skills if Bhatt's are really keen on finding fresh faces.
its too much ... its been seven days from d day wen result was to be declaired.... sum info must be posted by d bhatt's ... people r waiting eagrely for d top 40..... dese speculations r adding to d irritation... Plzz Vishesh films , giv us some info....

this is how these so called big and famous ppl make fool of us "youth".... first they talked about being a part of legacy...den making destinies...and now wen dey have gathered enuf publicity fr dere movie, they r gonna rope in some big star.... its unbelievable how inethical they can be...and den dey expect us to go and watch such cheeters' movies... and d one who is saying dat he got a mail is simply lying, bcoz dey had said dat dey will declare results on youtube and not mail anyone....And for the 'anonymous saying that they had not promised', let me tell u v had actually signed a legal contract wid dem wich entitles the producers also to follow it.... so its not jst an informal promise but a legal contract...!
Very well written and said. Thank you for taking a stand for the thousands of individuals who have auditioned. I would like to post a YouTube video regarding this topic. The Bhatt camp cannot cheat their audience, we won't allow them to. We will fight for what is not and not let a serial kisser take over the part of a deserving new comer Good luck guys. :)
I recently received an email from Bhatt Productions stating that I have been chosen among the top 40 participants. Hopefully, I'll be selected for the lead role. Wish me best of luck guys! :-)

they didn't "promise" as you say. they are/were hoping to find a good face, but if they don't think it's good enough then they can choose Emraan or whoever.
