I read a lot of bad comments on anu agarwal and wanted to write soemthing on what she went through. Here is her story-makes for a bollywood movie.
As per hub pages
It was a few year down the line when she was still much in demand and her career was going just the way she wanted to that tradegy struck on the personal front. While the official version put out was that ANU AGARWAL had met with a major road accident that damaged her face terribly and shattered her emotionally and thus she simply vanished and went out of circulation. However if the unofficial version is to be believed then it was apparent that ANU AGGARWAL was travelling early morning from a filmland party having had a few drinks too many when her car was intercepted by anti-social elements and she was not only assaulted but even molested and left half dead.
The physical scars healed but the personal trauma simply shattered her and she crumbled under the pressure and that was what made her vanish from not just Bollywood alone but even Mumbai and Chennai. It was only a few years back that she ws spotted as a yoga instructor in an American fitness center and once again the gentle cajoling and persuasion to get her back to Bollywood for a second inning began. Even though ANU AGARWAL does keep jetting between Bangalore and Mumbai she has not shown any positive inclination to do films again though she is always open to do in-depth interviews with the Mumbai media to keep her presence alive though when if she does say yes to a second innings in films remains a mute question!!!!

Hey Anu,
If it is true, just come back and prove that YOU are a strong lady. I guess this could be the best answer to those individuals who were the cause of everything you must have gone through in your life.

Im really shocked to read that Anu was molested and left for half dead or she had an accident.......... i was a good friend to her in college but lost touch during the course of time.......... she was a very sweet and charming woman ........... i wish her all the best ................

I'm shocked and dismayed at the story. I've never heard it before, is it really true?
Anu Agarwal was a trailblazer, she was so unconventionally hot in Aashique, her looks were unlike all the other heroines in Bollywood, I was a fan after that film. Even her later movies, she took risks and took on 'different' bold roles. I always wondered where she disappeared to.
The sexual assault on her is so disturbing and it really is telling about the state of women's safety in India. Not a day goes by that we don't read about some young girl being molested in the online papers, and the comments section is always appalling with so many ignorant comments often blaming the girl (either for leading them on or not being careful enough etc ) Grrr, totally pi**es me off.
I wish her attackers were brought to justice, but it is not very likely is it ? If even a powerful women was silenced then what is the fate of a common citizen without 'influence' ? :(
Even in Hollywood, several heroines have gone through trauma like that ( like Gabrielle Union and Top Gun's heroine), but they are able to be pubic about it and talk about their experience, unfortunately in India it is very difficult to do for victims of assault . I wish her the best. I'm sure she can overcome it, she seems like a strong woman.
Gosh!
This story is so shocking! I had no idea before I read this here.
Anu was the most genuine beauty in Bollywood in her haydays. Even before featuring in Aashiqui, she'd made quite a splash in the TV commercial for 'Evita Soap'. I wouldn't say she was a great actress really, but she had a strong presence on screen.
I'd been trying since long to find out about her life after retirement from Bollywood, but mostly in vain. Now thanks to PinkVilla, I at least have some idea. BTW folks, I also found someone by the name Anu Agarwal on FaceBook recently and sent a 'friend' request. However I'm not sure if it's the 'real one'.
We're all with you, Anu! In fact, after reading about your ordeal, we admire you a lot more now.
Anyone knows what she's up to nowadays?
Gosh!
Her story sure IS shocking! I had no idea before I read it here.
Anu was the most genuine beauty in Bollywood in her haydays. Not such a great actress, yet she had a very strong presence on the screen.
For a long time, I'd been trying to find out about her life after retirement, but in vain. Now, thanks to PinkVilla, I got to know of this gruesome truth.
We're all with you, Anu! Looking at you today, makes us admire you even more.
BTW folks, I've found an Anu Agarwal on FaceBook and established contact. However I'm not sure if it's 'the real' one.
Anyone knows anything about what she's up to nowadays?
you are a good actress
your body is looks very hot in cloud door
i want to see this film the cloud door of anuagarwal pls help me some body
well, i dont know if this story is true but i do think something went wrong with her. esp. lookin at the scar on her right arm....i kind of wonder how their is similarity in her story and Parveen babi's...she also disappeared and then was spotted in US and she also appeared looking very different n also drugged. i think mahesh bhatt has somethin to do with this...coz parveen babi was also involved with him....there definetly seems to be similarity in their lives
I don't buy this garbage story she looks like she has been on drugs and how many movies did this failed starlet star in???
yes, she looks totally different.. but that does matter.. having lost it all, she found her strength to survive it. that is beautiful.
She looks totally different!
Anu was a truly spectacular natural beauty back in her days, she started very early. I remember I was just a small kid when her first movie came out, it was such a mega hit. Her dressing style in he movie was much admired, even me as a 8 yr old girl wanted to dress like her.
She gave some nude scenes in the movie cloud door, she had a truly great body. Anu was not afraid to take risks.
And then she vanished, With this story about her being molested(I think it was much worse than that), I understand her wanting to hide. Poor girl probably was very traumatized.
She still looks good, although you can she the emotional scars and suffering in her eyes.
can u believe, back in the day she had great status, and even she could not do anything about it. people just got away with it. imagine a common woman's safety on the streets!!!
Here's the full story for the clip above.

If this is true , its sad n tragic. She looks very different.
we all spend so much time praising stars for their exterior beauty, and forget that the only real beauty is inner.. we need to also reflect on the courage of the great ones who can overcome all odds. Anu is truly lovely, her courage is amazing!!!!
Anu Agarwal was one of the upcoming actresses back then.. a breathtaking beauty. Check out her google photos, her face so serenely gorgeous!!! And as a starlet back then, she looked 100% Indian- she did not need to wear Western outfits or color her hair to be hip. She left her hair plain and long and black and barely put on any makeup. But still, her face was dazzling like no other.. even today, she would have stood out. today they talk of bold stars.. but she was bold then. today they talk about hip dusky stars- she was dusky.
she had so much masala press after her, which she didn't like: they say Mahesh Bhaat took a strong liking to her. She was also dating Saif Ali Khan a bit back then. All the guys were after her. Her films were becoming hits. She was going to the top.. and then this happened. A star that was rising and rising...
But this goes to show that TRUE BEAUTY OF A WOMAN IS HER COURAGE. Outer beauty can fade, guys come and go, stardom and fame are so shallow. but look at how POSITIVE AND STRONG Anu has grown despite the challenges!!! Now that's women's power..and it's beautiful!!! It's true, the true beauty of a woman is her spirit, and Anu shows that!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Anu!!!!
Yea Smitag and Anon you guys are so right!I see all these pictures and videosof women being abused thru news and stuff alll in the open and people just STARE! and when I go back home I can never step outside by myself i dont feel safe and esp not after dark! ...Feel very lucky in that sense over here
oh no this is a hertbreaking story...i know anon in india there are no laws to protect woman...unlike in us
India is trash when it comes to the way roadside gundas behave..even ediucated people r bad. I am in Us, though want to come back to Mumbai but I hate it
