Well SRK and Aishwarya are like the indian Angelina Jolies and Brad Pitts of India . The west is not the most important or even correct media sometimes. And even in the US/UK someone like Paris Hilton could get a two page spread so does that make her impotant ? Freida is just the girl of the moment. Yes she has had some movies and few were a hit but she is still a small player in the field of entertainment and media. In the UK she is not even that famous like Daniel Radlciffe or Emma Watson or Hugh Grant.

Going to premieres is part of the job when you sign on for the movie. It's called promotion. They send out the star that has the highest profile/ name and face recognition to promote the project. Freida is probably going to carry that "embarrassment' to her first million dollar film paycheck! Freida was underused in the film but her promotion of it along with James and Andy Serkis made it a hit. Since late April, all Freida has been doing is promoting her films and spending time in England with Dev and Mumbai with her family. She has no new films announced so far for next year, so she could be focusing on a lot of things....acting included.

Dude I live in America , nobody know who she is. Mr. James Franco though is very popular and famous here. Girls fawn over him and guys want to be like him , he is cool to them. Having him around in a movie would make these people flock to any of his movies. She though does not have that star power, So I agree with the commentor.

Most of the photos of Freida on PV are of events or paparazzi style. These are not photoshopped. The above photos are not photoshopped. The magazine covers and shoots probably are. Like Bips, Dips and Sonam, Frieda's colour changes with light and season. She looks great from any angle in still photos. Acting is quite competent. Not spectacular, better than Katrina Kaif for sure. She's not going away anywhere in the next five years, guaranteed. Which in itself would be a good seven year run that most actors can only dream of. Lucky Lucky girl!

I think the bollwood actress are better looking then FP. They don't wear pancake makeup as this anon keeps saying. All of the Indian actresses mentioned here being compared to Freida Pinto are perfectly attractive (and no, I'm not some crazy fan). Who are you people to pick their faces apart?! "Sonam is all nose" and "Anushka's face is flat" -- my God!!
Freida is thin, which contributes to her prominent facial bone structure. If she gained about ten pounds, I doubt her face would be as angular. (And believe me, there are plenty of beautiful and celebrated actresses in Hollywood who don't have the cheekbones you could cut cheese on.)

to the girl who says sonam and anushka look better than her... look up their photos right here on PV. Freida has a strong look with superb bone structure, a photographers dream. Sonam's photos are nothing special. I love Sonam btw, she sparkles on screen, Delhi 6 was amazing, but in still photos, not so much. And Anushka's face is flat, no interesting angles. See this why Indians jut don't get Freida, they don't understand the importance of bones. The only Bollywood actress who has great bones and is very chic, is Deepika
Who cares if Anushka Sharma has a fatty face ? she can act better than Freida Pinto. Freida and Anushka are average looking but one is talented and the other is not. Freida was awful in POTA, Mireal , Tall Dark Stranger,Slumdog . They were either 5 min roles or full ones and she showcased her terrible skills. Hollywood does not care for looks . They look for talent.And seeing that Freida Pinto does not have any she will be heading out soon.I don't care if the dirctors of these movies are famous or big , I perfer quality than quantity, meaning show how much talent you have., I don't care if you are Woody Allen or Danny Boyle , please hire people who can act and will bring you good reviews and money. This is afterall show business.

If hollywood is prepared to bring Bollywood babes, I suggest they choose someone such like Dia, Sonam, Deepika or even Anushka who could represent India better.

Sorry to say this and I don't mean any offence but Hollywood does not care for Sonam, Deepika and Anushka's looks because it's too foreign for them. They like Freida because her looks conform more to their beauty standards. They don't like asymmetrical faces like Sonam where the nose dominates the face.....Anuska's face is round and full ......no cheekbones..
I can see Deepika making it because she is fine boned.......I guess it's being at the right place at the right time. But Freida's face structure and high cheekbones are what the West likes.
