Um, being part of a cast of an Oscar winning movie does lend her respect as an actress and in her first movie. Anyone else, especially like Rai these people would be doing cartwheels. This woman is in one hit after another but it's still not good enough, but Rai has a couple of pieces of wax that look like her so let's all praise her. Loser Indians. She never put down India she only told the truth. India has problems one of which is that you praise people that don't look like yourselves.

pinto probably had the least challenging role in SDM and continues to take the same level of roles in most of her other movies . she also clearly gets cast for her looks not because anyone is drooling over her acting talent . miral was a big stretch for her and i think she was brave to take it but because of her lack of skill she couldnt carry it . there was no depth to her performance . she got cast because she resembles rula jebreal who is dating julian schnabel who just really really wanted to make that movie . but lets wait and see what she has in store for us as trishna....
And who said anything about aishwarya rai? ugh, why does there always have to be a comparison to aishwarya rai ?

Are you joking ? Those directors chose her because of h-y-p-e. HYPE. Alot of my freinds who are not indian have not even watched slumdog millionare , not do they even care to. None of them really know of her and they won't even bother to look at her either. If I asked randomly to people on the streets of either US or India and asked have you heard of freida pinto , the answer would be no . Why does Ash Rai have to do with this ? No it doesn't. There are many actors who don't act in movies that are Oscar-Winning movies and have a higher popularity and respect from audience members and fans than she does.

Where was it written that the anon wants to be an actress or even goes to acting classes? ?Please read properly and carefully. I agree with the fact that 3 month of acting classes is not enough. I read about actors like JGL(Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Elijah Wood who started by doing commercials and they were attending theater camps , that how most people get started in the Hollywood.Nobody gets bolted to stardom instantly .Look where they in life ! I doubt Freida will be highly praised by critics like them like them , if you don't know who JGL is or Elijah Wood , you are living in ga-ga land. Keep trying to pass her off as this great legend , no one cares.

Freida Pinto will never get the praise and criticism they have goten from critics. She seems to only want the fame and attention. Those guys do it for the art. I guess that why they have lasted in hollywood for awhile . I have seen Elijah Wood acting since he was a kid, even then his performnces were brillant. Freida still hasn't proven her self as worthy of all this hype around her. I don't think she will ever reach that kind or respect they have from critics and audiences. She hasn't really gone through those stages of becoming a respectable and credible actress. For an R rated film( which limits audience) Immortals is doing very well at the box office.
