Madhuri Dixit with her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Madhuri Dixit's look is not from any of her movies. Her statue is wearing a saree by Varun Bahl and the jewels are by Aquamarine . Madhuri Dixit is the sixth Bollywood celebrity to be honoured here at Madame Tussauds London and only the second actress following Aishwarya Rai. Madhuri was completely involved in the creation of her figure, attending a sitting in Mumbai where sculptors captured a catalogue of reference photographs and hundreds of precise measurements to create this staggering likeness. Madhuri also donated the exquisite saree her figure is wearing.

Madhuri looks stunning in both.....she has always been a head turner. I'm glad they installed her wax statue. They were idiots to ignore her for all this time. She was nominated in 1999, I believe but Amitabh Bachhan was given this honour as he was her senior in movies and Madhuri was hardly 30 than...Since then she's continuously being nominated even when she was totally away from limelight (who says out of sight, out of mind)..she is winning the Madam Tussauds poll each n every year. Finally she's there////I loved how she never lobbeyed for this...her PR is really weak but her fan base is equally strong

we should have sridevis wax, she deserves more than any of these actresses, but i am really happy that madhuri is there and her wax looks the best.
madhuris wax is really good, but we should all vote for sridevis wax to be in madam tussauds next because she has been one of the biggest iconic figure of bollywood and lollywood. so really think everyone should vote for sridevis wax now.
I would suggest them to remove Amitabh Bachchan's staute from there and bring the likes of Malika Sherawat and others there. They all will fit together. Just remove Amitabh because to be there is a big DISGRACE. This is not for legends

Madhuri is the queen of lobbying...All Madhuri fans are blind in her love...She is what she is due to her active PR and her lobbying around and promoting herself..!!
Really the best wax statue ever...Aishwarya got the worst. Some people fail to understand that it's a positive thing if she's getting such recognition in her 40s which is proof enough that her popularity is growing exponentially. All other celebs get such things at the peak of their career but Madhuri is not that active in movies now. Her last release was in 2007. She's a true superstar and the fact that she got it entirely on her merit makes it even more special. I heard Aishwarya got it with the help of her international agent Simon whose first assignment was to get Aish in to Madam Tussauds. SRK publicizes himself too much so it's no surprise if he's in Tussauds. So I believe it's ONLY Madhuri who actually got it without any lobbying. Infact this word 'lobbying' never existed in her dictionary. That's the meain reason why she lost the National award twice, once for 'Anjaam' in 1994 and again in 1997-98 for 'Mrityudand' as National award are the most biased awards. Madhuri is the only celeb who impresses me the most. She's a solid person, the best actress, the most beautiful woman and the greatest dancer ever. I wish she gets more n more of such awards and recognition. She didn't get great women oriented roles like Sridevi or even Vidya Balan but Madhuri excelled in whatever limited opportunities she got and she always stole the show from her co-stars like she did in HAHK, Beta, Raja or Devdas, to name a few....Now everyone is saying gr8 things about Vidya's performance in 'the dirty picture' but don't forget that it was a good script and wonderfully directed & executed. But Madhuri got almost the same applauds for her role in 'Raja' which was a terrible movie. My point is no Vidya balan/Kareena kapoor can make a bad movie work like Madhuri did in her prime. Even talented actresses like Vidya balan can do wonders in gr8 scripts like 'Dirty picture' but they can never reach the heights of Madhuri. Madhuri is the biggest crowd puller and still holds a great command over audience. Not to mention she's the most respected actress in Bollywood
It's a misconception that a poll was carried out by Madame Tussauds and Madhuri won. The statement from the wax museum authorities clearly says that fans of Madhuri sent them a signed request to consider her for this and they accepted.
Madhuri got a wax statue because according to Madame Tussauds officials, her fans sent a petition to them. It can happen for any other star if their fans show equal support.
Sreedevi should be at Madam Tussauds,as she has contributed a lot to India.
Legends like Vyjayanthimala, Hema Malini, Rekha or even the iconic Zeenat Aman is not even considered but here there take a star from the late 80's to 90's and make a figurine of her. All Madhuri did was smile show her set of teeth, gyrate her hips and shake her bosom and that made everyone happy. She was an ok actress, and of course a very good dancer, had a good screen presence, a lovely smile, but that's all! Her roles were repetitive and limtedi scope, and to say it in short, she wasn't a versatile actress and the roles she did were not diversified. And i don't even want to say anything about Aish and Kareena at all, so undeserving too. That two are worse off.

really good job on the statue, comes very close to the real lady. but toooooo light of a skin tone. should have been a tad more tanned. also, they should have taken the classic shot from HAHK her in a purple saree, with her head turning to the back pose. it is iconic

obviously the artist is going to be copying the tone of the artist standing in front of them. It's not like in INdia where they try to make everyone look fairer as a 'beautifier'. he/she has no clue that the person behind the pancake makeup might be darker/lighter. if you are upset that Aishwarya did not wear a lighter foundation and/or wore a dark bronzer (you pick your choice of what she did) for her statue sitting, then that's a different topic.
Besides, Western artists always give a tan to people.. esp with lighter eyes.. it brings out the eyes more. tans are considered hip and mod in the Western world.
in any case, they made Mads look a lot older than she is.. it's Hritik's and ishwarya's status which are more better copied.

Madhuri from her Dhak Dhak days still is one of the greatest beauties in the world. this statue is nice and stunning. but does not do justice to a legend who is one of the gratest talents and beauties of India. it is simply copying Madhuri after her retirement.. not fair!
also, it did not do full justice to her famous smile. when she dances, that's when her smile come out. it's still nice.
Madhuri is the Dhak Dhak queen-- they should have done a statue of that one.

you act like tan is a bad thing. a tan is considered an asset. if they had Western makeup artists, they probably pancaked them up tan. Madhuri probably got a '2nd rate' deal, not getting the Cannes and Loeal arist-- so she got an Indian makeup artist for her wax.

nice wax but agree it would have been nice if it was the maduri of hum aapke hain koun. She is mostly remembered for her films of that time which was her peak.

umm i love Madhuri and all but i find it really odd how they created a wax figure of a forty-something yr old Madhuri. Why did they not choose a pose/iconic image of her from her prime days e.g. from HAHK, or the choli ke peeche kya hai song (from Khalnayak)?!! Imagine how exciting and exotic that would have been! She looks, with all due respect, quite odd here. Her facial features have changed so much.
