What a waste of 100 crore! They could do so much to help the poor and needy in India. It is embarrassing to throw such lavish wedding when there are so many poor people on the street. They could have a grand wedding and donate portion to people in slump.

I've been to weddings of my classmates from the Reddy and related Andhra business community, and their weddings were SO lavish even among the wealthy middle-class community. Involved tons of jewellery and dowry of imported cars , often displayed at the venue. :) Wonder if they pay their taxes honestly like us idiots.
U should be sued for adding the extra 0 and misrepresenting facts.. how silly!!! totally agree with people calling it a shame!!! they could have a lavish wedding and still help people who r downtrodden .. No one bothers to do that in our country not any of these big stars... now don comment why are you posting this comment go feed the poor, I do that when I can... but I cant do that everyday these super rich celebrities and business tycoons can!!!

Yeah we are and making a critical assessment is good so these rich losers can learn
The question here is that these people with their millions could have built shelter for those millions who are homeless and live in filth and instead they waste that money on useless extravangances and paying bollywood film stars to dance around trees!!
If all people on this planet gave to the poor there would be no poverty-poverty is man-made and these rich people who could do so much to eradicate that poverty should be ashamed of themselves!
couldnt they just donate all this money to a charity to help poor people and sick children?

Guyz I just posted from TOI where they said 1000 cr. I believe they have added an extra 0 by mistake. I think 100 cr is what they spent going by the looks of things and the money they gave the stars.
Salman was offered 20 so we can roughly guess what the others were offered. Must say its a real shame soo much money is being spent on such a wonderful occasion like a wedding but knowing many millions are in poverty. I'm not judging these guyz but just saying its really sad.

LOL Narayan Murthy donated 100 Cr to the foreign University where his son graduated ...thoygh the donataion was to the uni all knows what happ behind the doors so nobody is naive...
GVK's run three airports in the country and are into power projects,hotels and real estate and groom's dad is Kind Real Estate King down south and givene fact they sent designer saree's ,wine bottles,asorted choclates,crystal pieces as goodies plus each star being paid in Cr for the presence if salman was offeres 20 Cr wonder how much SRK charged for performing and imagine how much entire Bachan clan must have got for there presence... so no doubts where all the money must have gone..
I think stars performing at a wedding is so sad. I dunno, for some reason it takes away the respect I have for them. In the end, they're just entertainers who will do anything for money.

his family is worth more than 4000 -5000 crore as far as i know, but rohan's wedding was so simple.i love that abt this family, no tamasha and no hungama. simple,pious, wonderful wedding.
god will be much pleased and give them blessings if they spent that much money to feed the poor who go to sleep without food everyday than giving money for bolly celebs to attend when they already have so much money. don't know where the morals in the country are anymore.

100cr sound like a made up number, its almost between $200mil-$250 millions. Thats not possible no matter how much they spend.
Even Laxmi Mittal could only spend $56Mil in his daugther's wedding, and it was the most expensive wedding ever and was done in Europe. How can the wedding in India be 5 times more than that when they pay the help in peanuts? Even if you combine the cost of private jets, food, jewellry and everything.
$250millions is the budget of a Hollywood blockbuster movie.
If they actually selling out such money for a freaking marriage, then shame, shame and shame on them.

Looking at this disgusting waste and extravagance reminds me of a scene in Mr India-
The rich people are inside eating and drinking greedily and whilst the poor people outside the building are living and starving on the roads, then Mr India comes along (invisible of course) and beats up these rich guys/villians, force feeds one of them daal which is basically rocks (as a lesson to those corrupt sellers) and takes the entire table of food away to the poor people outside to enjoy

If they had spent half that amount building sustainble resources for the poor and needy in India, they would've gotten 1000 crore blessings and impressed people everywhere. Such oppulence might impress desi people but usually it is just frowned upon and considered tacky!!
