EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Kumar's Padman to wrap up by May first week

Akshay Kumar is currently in Maheshwar, Indore for the shooting of his film Padman. The movie, which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead, is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, a small town entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu who invented low-cost sanitary napkins to generate awareness in rural areas.

Interestingly, yesterday there were reports that Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna, who is producing the film, was upset with the entire cast and crew of the movie and due to the delay in the film, she has gone into debt. "Twinkle has maintained a dignified silence on the complete failure of her production team, which clearly couldn’t keep the budget in check. Because of that she now owes a sizeable sum of money to the creditors. In fact, the team isn’t happy about Twinkle trying her hands in production either," a source informed a daily.

However, Twinkle rubbished these reports and slammed the daily for it on Twitter.

Now, we have learnt from a source that contrary to reports, the shoot of Padman is going as per schedule and there have been no glitches faced by the team. "Padman shoot has gone about smoothly with the entire team bonding with each other very well. Twinkle Khanna is very happy with the crew and there is no bitterness between anyone. In fact, we would be wrapping up the film by the first week of May," confirms a source close to the production house.
