EXCLUSIVE: Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao's Mental Hai Kya trailer cancelled; is this the reason behind it?

Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao-starrer Mental Hai Kya has been making it to headlines for all reasons - good and bad. While the theatrical promo has turned out to be one of the most anticipated ones, one might be surprised with the developments that have happened in the last few hours.

Recently, we told you guys that the makers have decided to have a big launch event on June 19 to unveil the trailer of Mental Hai Kya. Kangana, who is holidaying with her family in Himachal Pradesh, was also flying down to Mumbai for a day to attend the press conference. The production had also confirmed rhe same. But now, that's not happening anymore.

A new poster was put out today with a message - Trailer coming soon. And now, a source tells us that although the trailer is cut and ready, there's something that caused a complete shift in their plans. "The film has had its share of controversies. The doctors had opposed to the title. The makers wanted them to first watch the trailer and the film before jumping to conclusions. While many allege that the makers are disrespecting people suffering from mental illness, the reality is different."

Many contemplated a change in the film's title but that is definitely not happening. "The makers are still awaiting a censor certificate to come their way before they can proceed and showcase the trailer to the public. The major reason behind the delay is this only. The team was waiting for it to come till late evening today but had to finally call off their plans. Though the makers can release the trailer digitally without the requirement of a Censor certificate, whether they are indeed going to do that or wait for a new date to announce is something that we have to wait and watch.”
