An actor with a mind of her own, Rani Mukerji has always been someone who is straightforward and warm at the same time. Rani brings in an air of freshness with her each movie. The actor is currently busy gauging public's reaction to her performance in her movie Hichki, which released this Friday on March 23.

Before Hichki, Rani was seen in Mardaani where she played the no-nonsense police officer. Rani has been taking up roles which are not just inspiring but also relatable.

In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, we asked Rani if her approach towards the kind of roles she wants to do has changed post she embraced motherhood in 2016.

A mother to 2-year-old Adira, Rani maintained that her approach to movies is very artistic and she likes to keep her professional and personal life separate.

"As an actor, I think the way I look at roles with an artistic approach, that is very professional approach to my job. I can't be doing all my films based on what Adira will like. I think because Adira is too young, she will probably see my films when she is 5 years old," Rani said candidly.

She added, "I don't think that time in my life has come where I will be choosing roles completely centred around what Adira would like or see. I think for me, as an actor and an artist, it is very important to do different roles, to kind of challenge myself, to do something which will be intriguing to me. So I think, it will be more my choice in that sense as I would like to keep my professional and personal life completely separate."

Couldn't have said it more beautifully, isn't it?
