EXCLUSIVE VIDEO - Varun Dhawan: I was nervous and hoped that Shoojit Sircar doesn't throw me out of October
Varun Dhawan is all excited and pumped about his movie October which released in theatres today. The actor will be seen alongside Banita Sandhu in this Shoojit Sircar's movie. If audiences' and fans reaction are to be believed, Varun is here for another winning streak.
After playing the quintessential hero in Judwaa 2, Varun Dhawan returns to the screens as Dan aka Danish Walia in Shoojit Sircar's October. The movie has hit the theatres today and if the first day reactions from the audience are to be considered, Varun is here for his 10th consecutive hit. Fans and critics alike have been raving about Varun's honest performance in October. He is paired opposite Banita Sandhu in the movie.
In an exclusive tête-à-tête, Varun along with Shoojit da and debutante Banita Sandhu revealed what was it like to shoot for this story of love. Varun even revealed that he was nervous on the first day as he was afraid that Shoojit will throw him out of the movie.
"I remember my first day when I had to do a very emotional scene and I had to cry also. Not cry (pauses) but I did cry. I was very nervous because I was like I am doing a Shoojit Sircar film, I am going to get exposed as an actor. I hope he doesn't throw me out of the film and then there will be an article saying, 'Varun Dhawan has been removed from a film because he can't act'" Varun quipped.

Adding to this, Shoojit said, "On that day there were not many people on the sets, but the day the crew and other actors saw the last scene, they were all moved by Varun's performance. It is a beautiful scene. The last scene was shot on the first day."
Regarding his character, Dan, Varun expressed that he was initially apprehensive about the name but when he heard the narration, he was totally convinced. He stated, "When I heard about Dan, the character, I thought the name is so peculiar. It was a new name for me and I was wondering why Dan? And then he said the girl's name is Shuili and I was again shocked. I have never met anyone with this name. But then he [Shoojit] narrated the film and Dan's journey and I felt that this guy could not have been named anything but Dan."
