EXCLUSIVE: Vikas Bahl to recreate Chandigarh in Mumbai for Amitabh Bachchan & Rashmika Mandanna starrer Deadly

Amitabh Bachchan is presently busy shooting for actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn’s thrilling drama Mayday, which kickstarted in Hyderabad in December 2020. Reportedly, after Devgn’s film the superstar is scheduled to start shooting for Vikas Bahl’s next Deadly with south actress Rashmika Mandanna in March. The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor’s production house Balaji Telefilms and Reliance Entertainment. Pinkvilla now has an exclusive update on this film. We have learnt that the makers have decided to recreate Chandigarh in Mumbai.

A source close to the development informs, “Major portion of the film is set in Chandigarh so the makers decided to recreate some important parts of the city in Mumbai. It will be a large set which will be made in Andheri and its construction might begin from mid-February. Vikas is presently busy with the pre-production of the film and is looking forward to start shooting.” Apparently Katrina Kaif and Kriti Sanon were initially approached to play the leading lady in Deadly.

In fact, Pinkvilla had earlier reported that Rashmika has charged a whopping amount to be part of Deadly. Reportedly, Ekta wanted a known face to feature in the movie and when Vikas offered the film to Rashmika she liked the script. The actress has earlier featured in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil films and she has already started shooting for her Hindi movie Mission Majnu opposite Sidharth Malhotra.
