EXCLUSIVE: Mehendi artist Veena Nagda: I remember how excited Sridevi used to be to apply karwachauth Mehendi
Sonam's Mehendi artist and Bollywood's Mehendi Queen, Veena Nagda, who had been applying Mehendi to Sridevi for over two decades, remembered the late actor and spoke fondly of Janhvi and Khushi to Pinkvilla.
The pictures from Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding festivities took the internet by storm recently. The two dated for about four years before finally tying the knot on May 8, 2018.
It was celebrities galore at the wedding followed by a grand reception. Sonam's cousin Anshula Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor made sure to be present at all the festivities and be their stylish best. However, it was late actor Sridevi whose presence was deeply missed.
Sonam's Mehendi artist and Bollywood's Mehendi Queen, Veena Nagda, who had been applying Mehendi to Sridevi for over two decades, remembered the late actor and spoke fondly of Janhvi and Khushi to Pinkvilla.
"Everyone [at Sonam's Mehendi function] applied traditional Mehendi including Janhvi Ji, Khushi Ji, and Rhea Ji. Sunita [Kapoor] made sure that everyone gets Mehndi applied," Veena said.
She, however, added that Anshula Kapoor isn't very fond of applying Mehendi. "Anshula isn't much fond of Mehendi, she just got an Arabic line done in one hand for the spirit of the function. Even Rhea doesn't like it but for her sister's wedding, she got her hands filled," revealed the Mehendi artist. 
Remembering Sridevi, Veena said that she still hasn't been able to come to terms with the female superstar's death. She also recalled how Janhvi has grown up to be a beautiful daughter and as a child would accompany Sridevi while the latter applied Mehendi for Karwachauths.
" Even Sridevi Ji used to get Mehendi applied by me. Janhvi and Khushi, hence, knew me. Janhvi was 2-3 years old when I had first applied Mehendi to her. Janhvi likes to apply Mehendi, she used to sit alongside Sridevi Ji when I used to apply Mehendi in childhood. I had applied Mehendi to Sridevi on her first karwachauth too," she recounted and added, "When I heard about her, I couldn't come to terms with it for a long time. I thought it was a hoax. I still remember how excited Sri used to be to apply karwachauth Mehendi."
