The comeback distraction - Rajeev Masand
Courtesy Rajeev Masand Technicians and unit hands on the set of this romantic film being produced by a former A-list female star have been gossiping about their male director’s incurable soft spot for the film’s leading man. The actor in question is a former model and failed actor whose make-or-break movie this could be, given that he’s finally landed a starring role—so what if it’s opposite the once incredibly popular heroine who’s producing the film herself. The actor will reportedly be relaunched with a new name in an effort to wipe out all memories of his previous film, TV and modelling work. The actress, meanwhile, is herself hoping this film will give her a second lease of life after a string of duds and a fairly long phase of unemployment. The director, whose last film was a colossal turkey, has worked with the actress previously on an item song she performed in his earlier film. When none of the big male stars (and her former co-actors) showed any interest in working opposite her in this ‘comeback’ vehicle, the director is believed to have fought hard to cast his actor friend opposite the significantly older actress. Now it appears even the leading lady has noticed that her director might have more than just a professional interest in the film’s hero. And from what we hear, she’s not pleased. It’s not his little crush she seems to have a problem with, but the possibility that the director might be distracted from the main purpose of their making this film—to help her regain her lost glory in Bollywood.

At 39 (not 37), Bollywood career is bound to be over, if anyone is surprised by that he/she aint living in real world. There are others much younger and more beautiful to play the roles she played. SRK, Hrithik, Sallu, Saif, Arjun, Harman, Ajay, Abhi everyone will dare to play roles beyond 40...and will not cast her or act in her movie - kya kar loge? huh? Pack up and leave, else keep howling...
I still can't believe that Preity's career disappeared overnight like that. She's still so young and beautiful, wtf.
And the Khans and the Rohsans not wanting to act opposite her, how dare they, grrr .
I think she could have taken a Arjun Rampal or a Herman Baweja whom the public already knows, rather than a complete unknown for a hero, coz that's unlikely to work for box office success.

Highly cliched formula to get back - when a woman has a fallout with a guy or he rejects her advances he becomes gay. SRK, Hrithik, Abhi,John all have been tagged as gay at some point in time – and yeah these guys are all happily married. Generally women who have this malice of getting back at men calling them names are the ones with multiple failed relationships. I'd like to see if this comment will be posted because as many have said it does look like a sponsored article.

Way too obvious....Preity stop wasting your money on another dumb Ishq, Love, Pyaar....film. These types of films are dime a dozen. Instead you could have made a realistic woman oriented film based on issues affecting the average Indian woman.

i don't think its much of a blind item if the writer tries so hard to give away the answer.
for example, he stresses the the director is male (as the only other comeback is Sridevi's and that has a female director)
and if there still was any confusion, he puts in the reference to the item song in Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
I think most ppl would have guessed without that bit making it so obvious anyway.
How did Her career just fall like this I feel so bad and it's sad to say but this movies going to be a flop ;( poor girl
