The cover story that exposed a star - Rajeev Masand
This week's Open Magazine column by Rajeev Masand. The answer is very clear if you have been following the magazine posts that came on PV this week. A sad story this one:( A leading male star is hopping mad at a film glossy for running an expose on his alleged affair with a popular actress. The story, which quotes unnamed sources, hints that the married actor has long had a roving eye and is known to fool around with his female co-stars. The story also suggests that the actor made the crucial mistake of promising this particular actress marriage in return for sleeping with him, and the actress made the crucial mistake of believing him. This expose has apparently caused havoc in the actor’s home and his marriage, and he is said to be considering legal action against the publication for defaming him in this manner. The actor is also rumoured to have put his cronies on the job to find out who it was exactly who planted this story in the magazine. From what one hears, it was the actress herself who in a weak moment revealed these and many such intimate details of their relationship to a gossip hack on condition of anonymity. Hurt at being used and subsequently discarded by the actor—who she alleges has stopped working with her and even acknowledging her publicly since their break-up—the lady hit back, never so much as stopping to consider that she could well turn out to be collateral damage in the explosion that would most likely follow.

To the highly commercial minded anon who is criticising Ash so profusely for marrying Abhi who was less successful - It is funny you don't consider that she was compromising, mature nature , humble and less money minded that she looked at Abhi as a good human than rate his success or popularity. Ash has high IQ and not a duffer or greedy. She knows when to move on.
having said all this abt salman beating ash and recent report of beating Kat on the sets of ETT...if these stories are true then why is Abhi trying to be freinds with salman. I mean the guy who abused his pretty wife....isnt that shameless or is it that Ash lied abt salman and used him just the way she used Viviek when Abhi found the reality he is trying to be friends with Salman
@Lol, so what if she said that in her interview? she's not God which we have to believe. And in that case Salman Khan never speaks about her, but when an interviewer asked him if he beat her he said NO, I have never beat any women and I don't know why that person accused me for. His only mistake was he was choose to be silent on these issues and people thought that he was/is guilty! Why don't you watch his interviews as well?!

NO , IT IS NOT FUNNY, IT IS SIMPLE LOGIC.
The reason we don't believe Salman when asked if he ever abused any women is : Why will any person accept his fault in front of others. You ask Salman if he killed some person; will he EVER SAY YES? OBVIOUSLY HE WILL LIE/MAKE UP STORIES , SAY I WASN'T DRIVING. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN HIM ACCEPT THAT HE KILLED BLACK BUCKS/DROVE ON PEOPLE ON THE ROAD/RASHLESS DRIVING? NO, right? Then why will he accept that he ABUSED AISHWARYA?
And if he really was a saint, why were the stories about him abusing him exes: Sangeeta Bijlani at airport/Trashing coke bottle over Somi's head; slapping Katrina come in ? Bullying Imran Khan to come to his house on Avantika's birthday? Why ONLY SALMAN? Any Logic? You dont hear other actors doing all this stuff/media does not make up false stories against others? Why will they make stories against Salman if there isn't any truth to it.
And, even Salman's father has accepted that Salman had misbehaved /abused Aishwarya and her family. He openly had said back in 2002 interview with Filmfare. that after considering what Salman had done to Ash's family, he can understand why Rai's are reluctant to give their daughter's hand to a guy like this . What else proof is required.
And Ash never said anything against Vivek publicly, because he did not cheat/torture her. Why will she vent out only against Salman if she wouldn't have been at the receiving end of his abuse ?
I am glad to see so many people against men cheating on their wives or abusing them in any which way.
No one is bringing the light on sexually transmitted diseases.The women these men have affair with may have bedded several hundred or thousands men and may be carrying many terrible disease like Hiv, and Aids.
And they sure are bringing those diseases to wives.
Unless, threre is strict legal punishment- this will keep on going.

Cheated wives hold themselves responsible deep down for their husbands affairs. they are scared of the tag 'left by the husband for a prettier younger woman' in society. so, they do anything to stay in the relationship. shiney ahuja's wife is the biggest example. she held a press conference to defend her husband while shiney was busy admitting the crime. she wasnt defending him, she was defending herself :)

Go the Ash way , marry a flop who and he will be a good caring, loving husband and one never have to worry about cheating.And He will Stick to you like a Glue.
Abhi had tasted success when Ash married him, but yes , he never had that super status which Ash carried. It is actually beneficial to marry a guy who is equivalent or less successful then you; not totally super flop, but a little bit let successful. Because then you have a upper hand in your marriage ; other person thinks twice before straying/cheating.
Since Ash is more popular, earns more/equivalent , Abhi will not dare to take this step. I believe even Amitabh changed his ways when Ash came into the family, he couldn't dare to tell her to stop her career/take a backseat like the way he had done it to Jaya. Reason is simple: Ash was far more powerful/popular. He never gave due credit/respect to Jaya since she didn't have economic power/popularity /stood by him inspite of cheating.
This is in contrast with other star wives : Gauri/Suzzane/Kajol. SRK, Hritik are superstars, and wives wont be anywhere without them. In case of Kajol, she was at the peak of her career when she married, but Ajay didn't stray them, he wasn't in the top 5 or a superstar back in the 90's.
Now , the past 3-4 years, since Ajay's movies are spinning 100's crores in box office, he has become a bigger star then Kajol, so know he feels more powerful /also earns a lot more. Probably that's why he dares to take these steps knowing that his wife won't leave him

Dont impose your love of life- the ash mantra on us. Ash is the biggest manipulator,shrewedest person and a liar on this earth.
On the other hand, you need to open up your eyes, and see the several other women who dated salman, even today are close to him and have nothing but good things to say about him.
Ash also denied on american television, dat she has a boyfriend(the truth is she was in very close relation with vivek as far as public knew, but deep inside she was already involve wid Abhi).
Ash talks about Salmans infidelties, but about her character, she started dating him while he was already in a relation with Somi.
I guess it was a bitter pill for her to swallow when he cheated on her.But it was ok for her to come between salman and somi, and abishek and karisma.

I doubt kajol is worried about her "starwive status". She is probably staying for the kids, her parents were divorced so she probably doesn't want dat for her kids. I'm sure kajol has enough money of her own( with her ad deals n stuff) to be sound financially without ajay. My dad also was a huge cheater n I neva understood why my mum stayed with him. My bro, sis n I wudnt have mind one bit if they got a divorce, it wud have made us happier coz we thought our mum deserved wayyyyy better. She still insist she stayed for the children, which is clearly just an excuse. Now that I'm older I understand dat its just a very different generation, my mum although modern on the outside, inside she is extremely traditional n has a very old school mentality. I still hope women start standing up for themselves n not let stupid men walk all over them.

I don;t buy the "staying together for the kids" argument. I find its an excuse because women are afraid of being alone and living independently especially as middle age looms. The kids, I find, are usually resilient and it works out well for them in the long run as they learn the important lesson of self-respect. I'd have thought Kajol would have the gumption to divorce Ajay esp since she has a daughter herself. Self respect is more important than anything else-being alone is work much more if it gives you back your self esteem. I think Kajol is a loudmouth and braggart in public but deep down, she's too insecure to pull the plug on a broken marriage. And remember-divorce laws ensure adequate alimony to the wife especially if she's earning less than her husband.
I loathe cheaters but have little sympathy for the women who put up with it be it Jaya Bacchan or Gauri Khan or Kajol. Its basically shows that they are too preoccupied with a certain status (like being Mrs. Bacchan or Devgan) to care about their self esteem.

i agree 100%. women of this age should have self respect more than tolerance, especially given that they are financially independent and dont really need their man to bring up kids. This very 'self respect' in such situations is learned by the kids who grow up having much more respect for their mum and also imbibe the values themselves rather than learn to put up with any exploiting situation! I guess the woman who is cheated (the wife) considers it her fault somewhere deep down that she was unable to keep her man in her reigns and prefers to patch things up rather than end up lonely and guilty. This reaction from the wives is very much responsible for most extra marital affairs by married men; they very well know that the wife will stick with them no matter what he does. Sad society.
obviously everyone cares abt star wife status...they have money, fame, luxury...everything. Believe alone is difficult...they accept infidelity as part of life n be practical....y leave all money n fame n go n leave alone...better make the most out of the situation...divorce wont fetch anything....

Somy Ali - Salman's ex-girlfriend also accused him of infidelity. Salman himself has stated once that he is not husband material and that he is not even boyfriend material so how will he get ever married?

Mon, 2012-06-11 18:49 — Anonymous i think sometimes mom's think of the children outside the home. like if your mom left your dad, you might be mistreated in schools, social situations...her own social status and treatment...she might have been scared to raise 3 kids on her own...not being able to find another husband etc. it's not a easy decision however i hope that cheating is a deal breaker for every relationship...i see no reason for any woman to stay with a straying husband or vice versa...kids will be alright...when they grow up they will value the decision!
