I don't know who the actress but as I understand it nowadays the actors/actresses are being expected more and more to pay the fees of their own staff. What is the need to travel around with so many personal assistants if you can't afford them?
Pathetic and unprofessional move from the organizers. They should rather be grateful to her that she showed up without taking any fees. Stars take 10-20 lakhs just to appear at events, and these people are finding just the bill of 19,000 too much? (that too for 6 people , that would be around 4,000 Rs each, and that too at a five star hotel ) Disgusting. Even at Cafe Coffee Day(a simple cafe) , a milkshake costs anywhere between 150-300 Rs. At a five star hotel, one milkshake would easily be for 800-900. Plus they have taxes/room service fees as well . What do they expect? She and her entourage to stay hungry for 4-5 hours? Also, how can she come without her make-up person/hairdresser, they are part and parcel of stars.
Basic hospitality of Indian culture is , you go anywhere, the host takes cares of your food/stay/commute. Not saying that food needed to be ordered from 5 star, but when the event is being organized at a 5 star hotel , then her staff will obviously ask tea /coffee to the waiters/room service there rather then go and find a cafe across in the city. The organizers could have arranged food/drink separately for all the participants of the event as well if they didn't want the expensive hotel bills. But how can you make a person work for free without even giving him tea/coffee/food? In my house even if a servant stays late some day for helping in some work, my mom provides them food, and these NGO don't have the basic courtesy to offer tea/coffee to a star?
A milkshake and sandwich: Oke.
But tea coffee, a whole meal: 0_o
Looks like it was a very hungry lady...
Agreed with @Naveed but I think 19000 rs is much for Indians...
I won't comment about who the lady in question is but a) what is the need for the organisers to leak such piece of news out. b) I know celebs are loaded but the least the organisers could have done is accommodate the 'reasonable' needs of the celeb and her entourage.
1900 rs equates to what..... hmm from the top of my head £200
I feel the organisers should have graciously offered dinner to her and the staff without being asked. This news should embarrass the organisers and not the other way around.
Former beauty queen and film actress: Sushmita Sen
Star-struck film producer's wife and chief patron: Anu Ranjan
Event: BETI Fashion Show
NGO: BETI (raise awareness for female foeticide in India)
Sounds like Sushmita Sen . Priyanka can hardly be described as 'reclusive' , especially these days!!!!!! If she was at the hotel for a long time , it's generally the sponsorer's duty to make arrangements for the actress & her staff's meals. 5 Star Hotels are expensive , it's not surprising to run a Rs 19,000 tab.

i think organisers should know that stars don't work for free and this one did, so why complain..if you don't have the means, why invite them?
