It is no secret that Harley Quinn is making a girl gang of her own and it will hit the cinemas in 2020. The popular DCEU character is returning to the big screen, after Suicide Squad, in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) next year. We were treated to a teaser earlier this year. Margot Robbie reprised her comic-book character for the clip. A few weeks ago, it was reported that Cathy Yan directorial has finished filming. Now, reports about the film's budget are making the headlines.

You're probably thinking that Warner Bros is investing a gigantic amount into making the movie. You'll be surprised to know that it is the other way around. DC Films and WB have invested the least amount of money in the making of Birds of Prey. Vogue reveals that the movie has been made in a budget of $75 million. Turns out, this is the least expensive DCEU movie to have been made.

“Well, we’re on schedule and on budget which is a wonderful place to be," Robbie told the international publication.

DCEU's most expensive project was Justice League, which was made on a budget of $300 million. Comicbook.com reports Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was produced in a budget of $250 million, Man of Steel in $225 million, Suicide Squad in $175 million, Aquaman in $160 million, Wonder Woman was made with $150 million whereas Shazam! was reportedly made with $100 million. Prey is LuckyChap Entertainment's largest project. The production house is a five-year-old company founded by Robbie.

The actress, who will soon be seen in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, revealed more details into the all-women led project. She revealed that the movie will be "less male gaze–y." The costume designer Erin Benach added that the movie will be “more Sporty Spice than male fantasy,” which happens “when you have a female producer, director, writer."

Birds of Prey is set to release on February 07, 2020.
