As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex get ready for the arrival of their first born, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Thursday ahead of the big day. The due date for Baby Sussex is just a few days away and the official statement comes after it was first announced in 2018 that Meghan Markle was pregnant and the couple was expecting their first child. In a statement shared on Thursday morning, the Buckingham Palace said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby."

It further added, "Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family."

So far, as per tradition, royal couples have posed for pictures outside the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary's hospital in London. However, many believe that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not follow the same protocol for their baby's birth. Considering they want to keep the news private, the couple may just choose to share the baby's news on their newly launched Instagram account.

Tim Rooke, who has photographed all three of the Duchess of Cambridge's babies, recently told Cosmopolitan: "I don’t think we’re going to get the same thing with the Duchess of Sussex’s baby. I don’t think we’re going to see it at all. I think it's going to be private." Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also officially moved out of Kensington Palace in London and into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor ahead of the birth.
