The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise may have had its share of ups and downs, but James Gunn, Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista haven't forgotten the promise they made when they began the franchise. The Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, which sees the Guardians in a different galaxy, fighting and protect their worlds from outer space villains, rolled out its first movie in 2014. The movi was an instant hit among MCU fans. Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot became fan favourites.

But before the movie could hit the theatres and win everyone's hearts, James, Chris and Dave made a promise to each other. The filmmaker recently took to Twitter to join fans to celebrate five years of Guardians of the Galaxy. It was during these celebrations, he revealed the heartwarming anecdote. He said that if the GotG franchise is successful, James, Chris and Dave vow to stay grounded no matter what.

"It was at this show we could see GotG was going to be big. Backstage, @DaveBautista, @prattprattpratt & I put our arms around each other & vowed to remain down-to-earth, honest, & kind no matter how our external worlds changed," he recalled. James added, "I think & pray we’ve all 3 kept that promise." At the time, Gunn sat with Pratt and Bautista for a Q&A in an Apple Store.

James will be returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. The third movie is expected to be the final Guardians movie starring the OG Guardians. James has hinted time and again that Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax and Groot will be out on their final mission. Given the change in arc of Gamora, we don't really know what to expect from the GotG Vol 3 now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
