Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped into the shoes of parenthood in the month of May when they welcomed their first child baby Archie Harrison. The months leading up to baby Archie's birth were filled with speculations about how, when and where Meghan would deliver since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had chosen to keep it private. Another event that made headlines was Meghan's extravagant baby shower in New York thrown by her closest girlfriends. 

According to an exclusive report in Daily Mail, Meghan Markle snuck out of her hotel during her New York baby shower to avoid giving the impression she was enjoying the media attention, State Department documents obtained by the website have revealed. The documents, which were obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, reveal that Meghan told her security posse she wanted to change the 'optics' of her departure from by leaving through a side entrance.

The former Suits star had opted for a five-star hotel The Mark where she stayed in the USD 75,000-a-night penthouse suite. As per the document, "The VIP [Meghan] explained that her intent was to change the literal optics of the departure, making it appear that she was at least attempting to sneak out of the hotel in photos rather than exiting through the main entrance and giving the potential impression that she was enjoying the media attention."

During the trip, Meghan also changed venues for her lunch outing last minute to avoid being clicked at every location. The documents also revealed that diplomatic officials conducted a full terrorist and internet threat assessment before the trip to determine if the Duchess of Sussex was at risk for an attack.
