Iron Man has spoken and how! Robert Downey Jr has played an integral part in establishing the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor, who played Iron Man in MCU, featured in the first MCU movie and essayed a larger than life character over 22 Marvel movies over the past decade. While he kissed MCU goodbye with Avengers: Endgame, the actor stood to defend the movies he's been a part of when Martin Scorsese criticised Marvel movies. Unless you've been living under the rock, you would know that the eminent filmmaker came under the spotlight last week after he said Marvel movies aren't cinema.

"I don’t see them. I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema. Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks," he told Empire. Soon after, several celebrities who are a part of MCU reacted to his statement. This includes Samuel L Jackson, Karen Gillan and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.

Now, RDJ is weighing in on the filmmaker's comment on Marvel movie. The Iron Man star appeared on The Howard Stern Show and shared his reaction. “According to Scorsese, it’s not cinema. I gotta take a look at that,” Downey said when Stern asked him about the ongoing debate. “I mean, it plays in theaters. I appreciate his opinion. I think it’s like anything where we need all of the different perspectives so we can come to center and move on," he argued.

Comparing Stern's show with Marvel movies, RDJ added, "It’d be like saying Howard Stern isn’t radio. It makes no sense to say it." When the host asked Downey if he thinks the filmmaker is jealous, he replied, "Of course he’s not jealous of the success. He’s Martin Scorsese.” Downey added that he was "happy to be part of the problem, if there is one.” “Do you actually think Martin Scorsese is upset about Marvel movies?” Downey asked Stern.

Well, we don't think he's upset. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
