Courtesy Mid-day. This is a very interesting interview. Clearly Ash still hasn't cooled down on this issue. She still has some bitterness over it.

So guys what exactly did happen on the sets of Chalte Chalte? I've never quite understood myself
srk was right in what he did to ash. when salman came on the sets of chalte chalte, it was srk who spoke to salman first, ash intervened and asked srk not to interfere.so yeah there u go, ash was not a darling sweet little girl. she knew all the way what she was doing with salman.
but yes, aftr the spat, the khans-all three made life hell for and if u see that was the worst phase of her career. i'm glad she overcame that period and i applaud her for what she has acheived. but to blame srk for all that, is just unethical. she and gauri were the best buddies, but aftr this hungama they broke up.u cant evn call it srk's mistake, but well he was a gentleman and apologised.
yes, its obvious she still hasnt forgivn srk completly, but i hope they come back on screen together.

Salman atleast is straight up and honest, n Srk is a very smart man w/common sense, and im pretty sure he had a very good reason to throw aish out of the movie, not only the salman reason, if it were only tat and aish was all inncoent im pretty sure he would go against sallu like he has b4
and atleast he was polite enough to apoligize to her and being the gentleman going up to her, she on the other hand always being self obssessed n egoistic. the fact tat she is bringin this up kinda the shows shes not over it, this was her first downfall after being like no.1
n btw sallu did give her hum dil, becuz all the khans in the late '90s would hand pick their own co-star , he hand picked aish. slb saided himself

I think what the commenter posted was right and it was proved once again with raavan. Forget about the film being a flop...look at the openings it got inspite of being a mani ratnam film and having aishwarya in it! The openings were less than 50%. That shows that people dont trust Aishwarya as a great actress. And she is famous all over the world for being beautiful, not for being a great actress. The reviews she recieves say a lot about her beauty and less about her acting!
i disagree wit khyathi..... not oly director and story make film hit... also the actor and actress shld make the effect to show film the realistic.. so ash made nice effect and now she is world known actress.........

salman and Aish were together way back before HDDCS HAPPEN!!!
But they came out after their movies released...and he was the one who got her the film because he launched the director himself..SLB was nothing before salman helped him Khamoshi..which he SLB got so many critics awards..
bachans were only too happy to let her 'hinge' on to them. Doesnt that say something about her? Hm? They could get anyone.

and you are right that aishwarya is no priyanka because aish is way above her - 100 times prettier,successful,famous and richer. and what movie did priyanka carry on her shoulders you moron? Fashion was just an average minor hit and so was average hit Kaminey where Shahid was opposite her and even he had his own big fanbase. and should i remind you how Whats Your Rashee fared? it was BIG FLOP and she was the sole protagonist HAHAHAHA.
and now back to her big hits..all of them had 3 big actors opposite her - Akshay,Hrithik and SRK. LOL so much for carrying big films on her shoulders when its the opposite.

this comment from her just shows how secure she feels, nothing to lose now by speaking out; she did show the heroes what a heroine can do without support but of course her dazzling beauty and charisma had something to do with it, another heroine may have fared worse, i think ash only became more powerful and known worldwide
actors get replaced too! Farah Khan (woman producer) took Akshay instead of SRK in her next film, SRK is not crying ....

I am not an Ash fan. It is actually kind of weird to be a fan of someone so limited in talent. However, I have to admit, she looked truly out of this world in 'Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam', her appearance was mesmerizing. It completely captivated the bollywood audience.She even managed to do a good job in the movie.
'Devdas' movie was a joke and SRK was hilarious in it. The saving grace was Madhuri. Ash was not bad either.
All the Bolly heroes go through a phase when they start working with one girl and repeat her few times before more or less discarding her and moving onto the next pretty young thing. Akki with Raveena,Shilpa, Priyanka, Kareena, Katrina..etc.
SRK with Madhuri, Juhi, Kajol,Aish, Rani, Deepika...
Salman Khan with ..well i don't care.
Now back to Aish-SRK thingy, we don't know what kind or how much problem Salman created on the set of the movie, but instead of dealing with him, SRK replaced Aish.It was not very gentleman like behaviour. She was already shooting for it. Sure, she was hurt. And, yes if the Khan's gang up on someone in the industry the career of that gal is OVER. Even now. The three Khans trying to hold onto the by gone youth, with botox,hair plug, surgery, lipo etc etc, and acting with girls 22 years their junior, a bunch of hypocrites!
I strongly admire Aish for surviving in this cut throat and campy industry and doing what she did. I hardly think she used Salman! Salman with his criminal records and underworld links and a fine reputation of beating up his girlfriend, is not really an innocent, is he? But I do believe, she used Vivek, may be a little,but she did.
But we have to understand this girl came in without any family members in the industry and survived only because of the sheer force of her beauty and her street smartness.
The smartest move she made was joining the Bachchan clan. It proved immensly benificial for both parties. Bachchans with the lackluster Abhi to carry the torch and Aish the aging but beautiful superstar. They really amplified their status with this marriage. So Bachchans used her as much as she used them. Smart move and I like it.
Why not? She is a woman, the life span of heroines in Bollywood is barely 30 or 31. But Aish changed that. She is almost 37 and still going strong. Its because of her that other gals dare looking forward to a career in their 30's , like Kareena.
There is no black and white in this story, its a lot of gray areas. People used her for her star status and beauty, she used them to climb to the top. When you are in a game, you do whatever it takes to survive.
No one is the bad guy here, except Sallu, may be.
i was a huge fan of Ash's during her early years when she truly was a lovely, innocent, and beautiful girl. i even opened this post hoping to read that she said something dignified and intelligent instead of making the snide remarks she has. her EGO and her very apparent INSECURITIES have really gotten the best of her...it's unfortunate... every interview of hers that i watch or read now, i'm left liking her less, even though i go into the interview hoping to like what she has to say.
also, i'm sorry to state the truth here Ms. Rai but your career is indeed the result of your male co-stars:
Salman got you Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam which put you on the map.
Shahrukh got you Devdas and made you a star.
Hrithik with Dhoom and Jodhaa Akbar solidified your A-list standing.
lastly, it cannot be denied that your career has benefited tremendously from your relationship with the Bachchans and your bahu status with them now.
Aishwarya, you are not Priyanka who solely carried a movie that received mass critical and commercial success. this was truly remarkable in the patriarchal society that is the commercial movie industry in India. also, if you were an actress starting out in Hollywood, you would not last more than 1 or 2 movies since you're acting abilities are very limited, even now some 15 years into your career. and, your "pretty face" would not be your saviour since there are thousands of girls as pretty and prettier in the Hills of Hollywood hoping to get their big break.
