yes agree with comment below vogue india is not same as real vogue (vogue US) because that goes through Anna Wintour's scrutiny. and not even the top international models can get there easily.
karan johar probably paid a hefty sum to the editor to put her there. not many people buy vogue in india and they have to make their money some way right.

Don't know why you people hate on her so much. It's like Pinkvilla has become a Kareena/Deepika/Sonam kiss *** session. Alia totally brought it. She might be a terrible actor, that has yet to be seen, but to blame her for nepotism when people like Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor had double digit flops in their careers yet still survived, is unfair. Of course Bollywood is all about nepotism, but this girl is truly gorgeous. Remains to be seen whether she should be an actress or a model. Right now, I'm leaning towards model because she has no expressions in the SOTY trailer, but all this hate is ridiculous. It's just Vogue India. It's not the real deal so why not cut her a beak? It's not like Anna Wintour put her on the cover here in the US. Jesus you people are frustrating. If you can offer support to nepotism queen Kareena, who seems like such an ignorant, arrogant person, you can offer this one support too. Pinkvilla never publishes my comments, but I hope you'll publish this one. Thanks.

soo agree w u anon, soo agree w u! i mean why to hate on her anyways? its KJo's movie n therefore his decision as to take whom he pleases. And she does look good eventhough her acting skills are to be still horned... but then again ppl like kareena started out the same way and finally after 10+ years of struggle is finally called a heroine of acting calibre. Give Alia a few chances n then judge ppl.

Yeah, to the poster a few scrolls below- She ain't no Kate Moss. Seriously? No one starts with a Vogue cover, much less the September issue. That's not talent, that's Karan pulling strings. That said she's pretty enough, I just wish the star kid insanity would stop. This is getting retarded and is making it very hard for me to take Bollywood seriously.
She's pretty cute and in a given period of time she'll be blooming more and look fresher. But that doesn't take away the fact that it looks like she's literally been grabbed by her shoulders and thrust down the Vogue editors throats, and she's doing all this quite unwillingly and awkwardly. Not saying that she's not pretty but she doesn't have "it".I like that pic with her sitting on the chair with the cool glasses, and the one with the red dress, quite diva like.Overall awkward but a nice shoot:-)

of course she is a child - when it comes to talent and fame that is. The models you speak of have done something o their own, independently and have EARNED the right to be there. What has she done to be in the movie she is debuting in? And most of all to be on Vogue's front cover. Obviously mommy, daddy & KJO pulled some string here.
Please don't compare her to Freida Pinto, whatever little that woman has achieved has been on the basis of her own and her PR's merit.
Shes growing on me, the shot where she is sitting on the chair is actually pretty good, so is the one in the red dress. Shes a bit awkward in her posing and looks like shes struggling a bit but thats expected for a first photo shoot. She has this Lolitaesque quality fashion will find endearing.

indians are such wannabes. alia looks gr8. looks like a crap actress, but you can't deny she looks beautiful. if she was giselle or latetia costa at 19, you'd fawn all over her. bloody indian syncophants and super jealous of their own. freida pinto is another example - indians just can't stomach her success. but i remember when victoria beckham's vogue india cover came out, you all were drooling. lame.

Since when are models in the States "too young"? Seriously? She's 19. Younger girls than her have covered Vogue. Kate Moss had her first cover in her teens. Sienna Miller was only 23 when she did her cover back in 2005. As an assistant photographer at Cosmo, I know these things. Cosmopolitan is not Vogue, but I can't imagine the standards being any different. 19 is not too young, it's practically middle-aged in the span of a model's career. She looks great, I think. Very fresh. Her posing is a bit amateur but that will come with time.

REALLY? a child playing dress up & this is the september issue??? I am all for making things happen & taking advantage of opportunities but this is beyond ridiculous. She would have been better on the cover of Seventeen or Bravo something. Epic fail!
Vogue definitely lost credibility with this one.
